  that was a ridiculous game. you must've been excited!!! i'm happy for the italians (even though i was rooting for germany). both teams played their hearts out, but i could NOT believe how it ended. i was sure they were going into PKs. i think schweinsteiger has been really terrible lately, i dont know why they put him in as a sub. oh well, i'm not bitter or anything, LOL!!! :)

  Excited doesn't even begin to describe it, girl!! I almost burst into tears when Grosso bent it in!! And then Del Piero put the icing on the cake. Afterwards, we went on an impromptu parade, honking horns, waving flags, screaming in the streets!! Drivers going the other way made u-turns to join in!! We were passing stop signs and red lights, and other cars were letting us go through, watching in amazement! There must have been at least one hundred cars all following throughout the streets. Young & old, cheering, displaying the flag, playing the anthem...People in backyards, inside houses, and block parties came out to see what the heck was going on; many waved back, many took video and pictures...it lasted a good three hours!! We saw one lady cop pass by, sure she would give someone a ticket for disturbing the peace, but she honked along, too, and went her own way! Then it got slightly out of control when someone got a hold of an 18 wheeler truck; its horn sounded like a freight train, and that's when this one male cop pulled them over and put a stop to it. Still, it was a great day in America...to be an Italian!! We'll be out again in full force Sunday, though!! This is our year!! 1970 - lost, 1982 - won, 1994 - lost, 2006 - victory will be ours!! Time to fry the French!! Seriously speaking now, beating France will be no easy feat, but I am confident in the Italian team, providing they all play up to their full potential. Should be a damn great game!!

  you know what's funny? i was doing the same thing after the game, (although i still had my deutschland shirt on!!)... there were 2 cars and a motorcycle in our group and we drove around waving italian flags, it was so much fun!! although i'm not italian, i'm impressed with the way they've been playing this year. even if it was to defeat my country, they deserved it--they certainly played a better game. france will be a hard team to defeat in the finals, but i'm sure italy has it in them. they've had some really great plays this year. i was a bit disappointed in the france/portugal game though, i feel as though portugal wasn't playing to their full potential. france just had a lot more control of the ball, imo. and ZIDANE... he's got some crazy skillz :) i'll have to find a cool bar in manhattan to catch the game on sunday!!!
