I had no idea what to title this.

So, for the past 6 months or so I have been losing a lot of weight.  I'm not sure how much cause I don't have the courage to weight myself yet.  It's getting to the point where you can start to see my bones.  It's not like I am one of those girls who is obsessed with her weight and doesn't eat and exercises constantly: I eat junk food like crazy and I stopped exercising 5 months ago, and I'm still losing weight.

Plus a couple days ago I found a weird bump below my collar bone and today I found one on my neck.  I don't know if i should be alarmed or not.  I'm going to talk to the pharmacist today and see what he says about all this.  After I get paid I'm getting my butt to the doctor which will be fun because I don't have insurance yet.  I'm afraid he's going to want me to go to the hospital and get tested, and I hate hospitals and I don't even have the money to go to one.  In fact I'm still paying off my visit from last year.

<sigh> I don't know what to do and I am so scared right now.  I just see myself getting farther and farther into debt.

do you have any clinics in your area?  if you don't, take out the phone book and call social services and see if they can recommend a clinic or doctor that will take you without insurance.....explain to them what's going on and the fact that you don't have money....

    please do this?

something isn't right.  you shouldn't be losing so much weight without dieting.....

r, please see a doctor quickly. sudden, unexplained weight loss is a clear indicator that something is wrong. heck, see if your family can help if at all possible. but please go. IMHO, your health isn't something w/ which you should take chances.

I urge you to please go to the doctor. It isn't normal to lose weight for no reason. Your health is worth more than your pocketbook. I believe as secret does. There is help available somewhere.

The pharmacist I work with told me the same thing, so I'm making an appointment for the next time I am off which will be about sometime next week.  I already know the local hospital will take half of the bill off if you don't have insurance.  And today I found a low priced decent insurance I am appling for asap.

Just prayers that it;s nothing too serious and maybe just like a thyroid problem or somehting like my best friend thinks.

you've got my prayer rmuxagirl.  you're too young to mess around with your health.  everything else is really unimportant without that.

rmux: Honey it doesn't have to be what you are thinking of but take "the test" any way as a way of ruling it out. It could be the Big C or any number of things so take your butt to the doctor. My prayers are with you. And the test shouldn't cost you anything. At state and city hospitals they do it for free.

There is always ways to get help with hospital bills.  You do need to do  something.  It isn't good for you.  It might be that you just need thyroid medication but if neglected it can be real dangerous, as it stands now it doesn't sound good.
Please let us know what you find out.

ok the bumps I found on my neck and collar bone, my nurse aunt said it's nothing more than a cold in my lymth nodes since i can move it around and it doesn't hurt, so I just have to keep a warm compress on my neck.  And the weight loss can be because of the stress I went through with not having a job and student loans and all that good stuff I was stressed out about.

r: so wait, are you gonna keep the appointment? i hope you do.
