Aside from sex, what other form of exercise are you into?

Some people exercise to strengthen their health.

Others, to feel good about themselves.

While some others, do it to enhance their physical features, purely to attract people.

I jog every afternoon. I do crunches every morning and I dance every chance I get.

That’s about all the exercise I do. Aside from sex, of course :)

So, what physical activities are you into? May it be for health, vanity or self-esteem.

    Hi Yani,

I love to swim, I dance too and I like to walk on the beach though it's harder but I don't do enough of any of it.

I do it to stsay healthy, to stay a little toned (could do more) but mostly because it clears my head

    Hi Lucy!

I'd love to swim, if only I know how to :)

I exercise cos it makes me feel better about myself, like I've achieved something. In a way I think it did. I've lose my unwanted weight because of it.

  • dazed_and_confused said on Jan 31, 2007....
wow. sex does sound nice. I wish I was getting some hahahha.... LOL

I'm not really a health buff person, but every morning I do some stretching, crunches, and a little bit of stair exercise to awaken my senses in the morning.

Before, I used to swim at our campus every other day. Yup, I am a frustrated swimmer. Swimming gives me a total body workout. Not to mention I get to see a lot of men wearing trunks.... :D

    Cheers

    Nothing. Just sex. LOL

I also jog once in a while, it feels good to sweat. Else, I use the rusty stationary bike at home or  I use the jumping rope. I also love hiking.

    dazed: I can't float :(

  • dazed_and_confused said on Jan 31, 2007....
you want me to teach you how. Though it comes with a fee. Just kidding. Hmmm... You are required to wear a two piece though. Just kidding. LOL.

  • petitepapillon said on Jan 31, 2007....
Wait, there's exercise aside from sex? Lol.

I walk almost everyday. And I'm trying to make some time to do some crunches, and when I figure that out, I'll soon be doing that, too.
  • countryfan said on Jan 31, 2007....
I tkink that doing exercise is important. For me I usually jog, do sit-ups, hike, and swim. I walk everyday they I can. This is how I Usually try to stay in shape!!

Well I just joined WW and they promote exercise.  I have 8 lb hand weights, 5 lb ankle weights , some stretchy thingie that you stand on...but it works

Which reminds me I better stop working out my fingers here and actually do what I said I would do this morning

    And that is to EXERCISE

Dancing, weight training, spinning, biking, and my favorite, walking. This year I plan on trying some other things to add. I have always been pretty active and I the worst person to be around after sitting around doing nothing for more than 2 days in a row.
  • CreativeWoman said on Jan 31, 2007....
I lift some hand weights and walk.  I want to be healthier and look nicer.

I love doing weight training....i work out at least 2 times a week combined with ellyptical or treadmill jogging (you wont see me jogging around breathing all that polluted air ....at least my gym air is filtered ...lol).

Then I walk with my dog 3 times a day.... an average of 45 minutes walking at pretty fast speed (he is an hunting dog, always chasing bunnies and other dogs). When the weather is warmer i will walk him longer..

I love swimming.....i used to go to a public pool some winters ago and then i had  a backyard pool that did wonder to my body....its relaxing and empowering.....

I love Pilates too, some belly dancing videos and i use the cruch ball and a bar fro my abs...

I used to be a gym nut years ago....i slowed down since....

  • Lefty said on Jan 31, 2007....
I do power walking practically every day. And there's a lot of small hills and " valleys" where I reside, so I'm also stretching my muscles regularly!  Cleaning house is a great exercise for me as well.
  • here_in_my_head said on Jan 31, 2007....
I used to be quite the gym rat up until about 6 months ago where I kind of fell of the band wagon for the first time in about 5 years. I'm trying to ease myself back into an exercise routine. Today I went for a brisk 30 minute walk outside in the cold Canadian winter trying to walk on the snow as much as possible to provide a little resistance. Tomorrow I plan on digging out the gym member ship and doing some cardio and strength training. Strength training is one of my favourite physical activities, I'm still amazed by how much weight I can lift at any given time and the benefits my body has reaped from a little muscle contraction. In the summer I like to swim and go for walks.

The one thing I've never been able to do for any great length of time is jogging. I have total admiration for joggers. I can run for about 5 minutes then I feel like I can't go no further. It's funny because I can sweat my brains out on a cross trainer for an hour at a high level, but something about running, it just knocks me out. Any advice out there? A good way to get started?
  • Lucytorial said on Jan 31, 2007....
NUTS ALL OF YOU  especially you Ginger, you say you use to be a gym nut???rethink sweaty cause you got enough going on to look like a sex godess from gladiator days of yore! Geeze I am really lazy! okay so now Yani I hate this blog <joke joke> far out I feel really unfit now.  Thank god for good genes, at least I don't put on weight! so now ginger you have made me feel very unkept and I will endeavour to do a little more..

Dazed, one of the reasons why I took up swimming during my college PE was because of those trunk-wearing men :) Sadly, I passed the subject with a 1.75 and all I ever get to know was how to float. I befriended the instructor and spent most of my times talking with him he he
Lioness like you, I can't swim. I can float though. I'd love to take swimming lesons with you. Imagine all thoe drooling times we'll have he he
Petite, I simply love doing crunches. It works wonders for my otherwise bulging tummy. I hope you'll get into it sooner.
Countryfan, I too exercise to stay in shape. My mother's side of the family is huge. I don't want to be like them when I get older. Also, by exercising I hope to lessen my chances of getting hypertension, it also runs in the family.
Match, exercising your fingers can also be very beneficial, ask my husband LOL!
Princess, uhmmm what exactly is spinning? What do you spin? Sorry, a little ignorant here. I'm mostly into sex ha ha ha
CW, I bet you look very nice indeed, just like me!  <<big grin>>
Ginger. I heard about Pilates and am very curious about it. What body part does this exercie focuces on?
Lefty, cleaning is one exercise I hate to be involved with, but I really don't have a choice. What with two small kids around to mess the house up. Sometimes though I just throw my hands up and leave the house as it is. Nearly a pigsty. Of course, I can't stand it for long :(
Here I was thinking of linking this site but I don't know how to, so here it is running.about.com

Yani, are you talking about finger exercises with the channel changer or computer hahaha.  If you want to put a link in here.  Type it first, then highlight it and click on the fourth button from the right it looks like a globe and a link.  it will ask you to type in the web address and bingo you are done.

I use to be a personal computer trainer before  I started my dating service.

Lucy, I hate your genes!  LOL!

You don't put on weight?!!! OMG! While I only have to think of a Blackforest Cake and I gain weight.  tsk tsk some people are sooooo lucky  <<sighs>>
  • yani said on Jan 31, 2007....
Match I was referring to another finger exercise LOL!
Thank you for the help with linking, thank you. I'm so lowtech!
  • yani said on Jan 31, 2007....
Wait!  Match, a dating service you say? wow! you must be making a LOT of money. So many people are into it these days.
  • Matchmakingmomma said on Jan 31, 2007....
Hi Yani, I wouldn't say that I make LOTS of money, it is a living, but I love what I do.  I give a lot to charities though.  For 2006 I was a Gold Sponsor for the Princess Margaret Hospital event called the Pink Bedroom Party.  It raised money for Breast Cancer Research.  I also donated to the Red Campaign, I bought a Red iPOD to give away on my site.  All the money from the Red Campaign goes to Africa for Aids research.  I am also a volunteer at our local hospital.  I go in and feed the long term patients who have had strokes or unable to open up their food containers.  There are a lot of people in the dating biz, but I have been around since 1998 and I put my whole heart and soul into what I do.  Click on my name and you will read my blogs so far.
  • momsrock said on Feb 01, 2007....

Yani, sex is usually the only physical activity I do....but I do have 2 little boys so there is a lot of chasing to do...that qualifies I guess! :)

I tried Pilates and loved the way I felt but after about a month, I ended up in physical therapy... apparently there is a right way and a wrong way...the video didn't stress that enough...lol

  • Lucytorial said on Feb 01, 2007....
Agree agree momsrock, as a professional dancer half your career is spent learning how to use it the right way.  The smallest of flex in the wrong direction can cause major problems and this applies to all exercise the most important thing is to stretch AFTER your work out what ever it is.  This means the muscles don't get traumatised by over exertion.
  • yani said on Feb 02, 2007....
Match, you are very lucky, you love what you do, make very good money and you are able to help others. You're very lucky, indeed. I will try to read your blogs later on, when I'll meet my deadline. I am up to my eyebrows with paperworks right now. I just come in at SC to comment............. i'm addicted to commenting :)
  • yani said on Feb 02, 2007....
MOMS: LOL! you're not alone! Lucy: There was a time when I couldn't lift my right leg the morning after I jog. Perhaps it was because of this muscle trauma you mentioned above. I tend to just ignore this stretching thing after a jog, I didn't recognized its importance before. Now I know better.
  • Lucytorial said on Feb 02, 2007....
More important than prior to going for it.  Muscles have memory and they can get you when you least expect it.  If you have truama in your muscles definately go and see a bowen therapist - DO NOT DO Chiro, it's harmful and more traumatic than the original damage.

I prefer sex really anyway, I bruised my back the other night but my leg muscles feel great for it.  Lets all just have lots of sex  :-) there are a few people here I'm sure get plenty of excercise using this method.
  • yani said on Feb 02, 2007....

    ha ha ha ha

yup! Sex is so much better! None, or so little complications at all he he he

Anyway, what is the difference between a chiro and a bowen? I really don't know.

  • Lucytorial said on Feb 03, 2007....
Chrio traumatises your skeletal structure back in to alignment, bowen releases trauma from tendond and muscles to align you.

Example: My sister and I got a bit tipsy on the beach on afternoon and decided to see if we could still do some gymnastics - we could and I was doing walkovers on a log! idiot! I pulled my trapezies and didn't know until I couldn't walk properly, lop sided and very sore.  Bowen goes directly to the tendon associated with the T muscle and releases the energy.  Then gently using pressure points the rest of the muscle is relaxed.  If I went to a chiro he/she would have cracked my back and hips back in to place without a thought as to the muscle trauma needing to be released too.
  • yani said on Feb 04, 2007....

    Ow!

I get it!. I always go to a bowen, we call them here as Hilot.  I grew up always having to go to these people. I was kind of boyish.

    Thanks for the info Lucy!
