My foot is damnably itchy and it doesn't seem to matter what I do it won't stop and it's driving me crazy!!

I've tried ignoring it, I've scratched mercilessly through my sock, I've scratched mercilessly without the sock.

I've tried the nail brush and the loofah.

I've rubbed it on the carpet and it just got hot. I've held a cold pack to it and it just got cold. And the itch continues...

Aaargh I might just have to chop the bloody thing off it this goes on much longer!

Help!

I'll have to lend you my spare guillotine!   lol  Seriously, have you tried foot powder?  Maybe you're having an allergic reaction.

Like kruuyal said...perhaps an allergy or try calamine lotion for the itch.

Alyss...i suggest a bath in baking podwer and warm (not too hot) water....then dry and wear cotton, not wool, socks....peppermint foot lotion might help or powder....

I bet you are having some circulation problem...or is it a psycosomatic reaction to your emotional situation?..your feet are telling you to run as soon as possible....

    good luck.... :-)

Alyss, i can sympathise.  I have itched so badly in the past (from an outbreak of eczema) that I actually thought of jumping out of a first floor window (no jokes).  When you itch your mind cannot rest either.

I do hope you are feeling better.

Ok could it be athletes foot?  Sorry had to ask.  If it is then some Tinactin works.  Fast actin' Tinactin.

Me again...I have no idea what causes your itch.  I will tell you though I moved to a part of the country where in July black flies and no seeums ran rampant.  I think they took after me because I was new and fresh meat.  To make a long story short, I would be in tears as the itch and swelling drove me nuts.  The doctor told me it was something I had to build an immunity to.. Calamine lotion, baking soda  and all the other so called remedies did nothing.  One day while going through the sale bins at the local grocery store ( a ritual of mine)  I came across an ointment called "CALMITOL". Having nothing to lose but a couple of bucks I bought it. Once in the car I tore the package open and applid it to the most annoying itch.  Instant relief..The best stop itch cream I have ever come across.

I have to say that I can sympathize!  One time I had an allergic reaction on the soles of my feet that I was scratching them with a hard-bristled hair brush and popping benedryl like candy.  It took hours to calm down and my feet were quite swollen.  Don't know what caused it,  but the benedryl worked.

I might suggest lavender oil and or tea tree oil.  Lavender is very soothing to the skin and tea tree oil is anti-fungal.

Thank you for your suggestions. It did eventually stop of its own accord but that was probably as I was distracted by something else. However should it happen again I now have a wealth of suggestions to fall back on! Thank goodness for Soulcast!

I have all of the various remedies that were suggested available to me here and not one of them occurred to me at the time...

You know, it could have been a nerve ending thing which is why scratching didn't help, but distraction did.

I have the same thing you do, seriously, When I read your blog it perfectly described how my foot feels. I bet the itch is underneath the thick part of your skin on the bottom of your foot. None on these people know what your itch feels like, but I do. My foot itch is mild and i've had it for over ten years. I forget about if most of the time. The itch is most irritating when I take my shoe off after wearing it for several hours. However, I can usually feel it all the time. I'll give you two tips. 1) rubbing your foot aggressively on "sidewalk" type concrete is the best way to get any hope of relief type itching. 2) see a foot doctor, i'm making an appointment this week, i'm tired of this sh%$!

Thats what it feels like everytime I open my mouth to my teen. I tell him something and he either totally ignore me, or responds to be me like I'm the crap that is on the bottom of his shoe. He's 17 and already thinks he knows everything. I can't get...
I'm screaming so loud in my head it's a small wonder the rest of the world can't hear me. . ....
I have just been told ........
