I heard that Ford and GM reported record losses last week. Yes, readers, they've actually LOST money--for the first time in a long, long time. It goes without saying that they're not very happy about this.
No, GM and Ford are not happy about this at all. They're so desperate for money, in fact, that one of them has actually done the unthinkable:
Because which car companies are doing especially well?
Toyota and other (primarily) Japanese car companies that are selling hybrids. Foreign car companies.
They're tentatively selling hybrid trucks.
"Please, American public? Buy our cars? Pretty please? We've got hybrid cars now, too."
Why is this proof that people want to do what is ethical? Because this is evidence that more and more people are buying hybrid/low-emission cars--which use far less gas, and are much, much better for the environment. If this is a last ditch effort to stave off global climate-f***-ups (CFUs, for short), then I have a good feeling it's going to work.
All we now are properly-working electric cars--then we'll be set.
