So, Susan Sarandon and Jane Fonda got into the act to protest the War in Iraq. But somtimes I wonder what it is really all about. Last night on Fox, a U.S. soldier stated he was at an anti-war rally. While fighting in the middle east, he lost a leg and was sent home. I guess the protesters weren't merely against the war itself, since while throwing cigarette butts, they spit on him. Then how can people say they are against the war, but support the troops? It was easy to tell the soldier was upset.

ariene, you want to judge an entire movement based upon the actions of a few idiots? cuz it sounds like b/c of those idiots, you wanna condemn everyone who opposes the war, and that just doesn't make any sense.

I'm really not, Ed. I don't want to see the draft reinstated and I certainly don't want our men and women in the military to continue fighting in the middle east if there is a better course of action.

I think the actions of those individuals was nasty to say the least. But the entire movement isn't to blame. To support the troops and not the war is like saying my child is gay and while I don't like or support their life style I support them as my child or a person. Some understand it some don't!

Protesting the war is assinine. We can hide our heads in the sand like people did while Hitler was building Nazi Germany or we can face the evil brewing in the middle east (terrorists, Iran, etc.) head on. We have to confront the evil now, over there, or eventually here. And if you do not believe that, put your head back in the sand and we who stand erect and breath the free air will take care of you like we always have. God bless our troops and God bless those that continue to hunt down the criminals who killed hundreds on 9/11. God bless those who defend us against all future 9/11s. Sean Hannity was reminding listeners yesterday how many hundreds, if not thousands, of lives Jane Fonda was responsible for during and after Vietnam. How American prisioners were tortured for not joining her in condemning the U.S. Jane Fonda should have been placed in front of a wall and shot by a firing squad for treason. I was in Vietnam and could have been one of those prisioners, but for the grace of God. These protestors are just the misguided who think they are doing good, when in fact they help the enemy who knows that the only way they will ever defeat us and freedom is by weakening our resolve at home. Shame on those protesters. Shame on them for giving terrorists the hope that setting off one more bomb will cause our to pack up and come back home. God bless George Bush for protecting us from future evil and keeping the fight over there instead of over here, where our families live.

husbandhater - I understand what you are saying, but I just don't think it is comparable since so many lives and freedoms depend on the outcome of this war. ALIENated - I'm glad you made it back home. I know so many people who didn't. I agree with you. Protesting is fine, but in this case, it is sending the wrong message to the enemy. I heard on the news this morning that Britain captured 8 terrorists attempting to kidnap someone at random, execute them, then show the world what they did.
