I believe that everyone has something that they like to collect.

So what do you collect??

I collect other peoples junk.....
As my grandmother says, "someone elses junk is my treasure!"

I go to garage sales, church sales, thrift stores and Salvation Armys to find my junk.

Some of the best stuff is found in these places. I like to collect things anywhere from the 1950's to the 1980's. Can I tell you that every piece of furniture in my living room is free. Yes I had to help some of it, but no body else has a furniture set like I do. And I have things that you can't buy at Pier 1 or Target. Call me wierd, I know that I am a different person, but why should you spend a million dollars on this new junk at the stores that doesn't last as long as old items do. Just think what an e-bayer would do in my house!!!!

I truely believe that I am becoming my grandmother, because my family always tells me that these are the things that she used to say.

WELL, what do you collect, and where do you collect it from???

I used to collect sports cards in the 80's and 90's. I stopped when I noticed boys, but kept my collection. I have been saving it for my little boys and have added sports items to it along the way. When I was at Va Tech, Sports Illustrated did an article about the school and the BCS saga and Michael Vick. I saved that. And I have saved a few other things along those lines for my kids. Oh and a few Time magazines that have nothing to do with sports...like the 911 issues. But, I don't collect anything for myself.

I collect novels, may it be paperback or ebooks. I love to collect them because I love to read, and I've got lots of them on my room, pc, and mobile phone. I also love to collect magazines, both women's magazines and technology magazines. I am a tech junky. I always take trips at the nearest "cheap" bookstore to update my collection.

Aside from novels, I also like to collect dvd's of my favorite television series so I can have marathons of some episodes whenever I feel like it.

I consider my collection as an investment.

    Cheers.

I collect books.  People collect some strange things. I once saw a guy on tv showing his collection of thermometers.

Oh wow, data.  My wife has collected things "Made in Occupied Japan" for years.  Unbeknownst to me, she has also been collecting artwork.  She's a sly little booger (*winks*).

I don't care much for the stuff she has on the walls, but last week she said to me if anything ever happened to her, not to give away her paintings and prints she has on the wall.  I asked why not.  She pointed to one piece, and told me it was an original painting, valued between $300-1200.  I about crapped.  Then she pointed to a couple of prints and told me they were original prints from the 1870's and were worth well over $100 apiece.  She went on and on, telling me about all the pieces she has hanging in the living room and dining room.  I'm glad she did, because if something had happened to her, I would have put them in a yard sale for $5-10.

I've always collected things.  It started with stamps as a child.  I collected Boy Scout patches and war games when I was younger too.   I started collecting ball cards when our son was born.....back when moms did.  My latest has been a collectible card game called Magic:the Gathering.

in the past couple of years I started collecting teapots.

I only have 8, but they're all beautiful, porcelain pots -  hand painted....

They're not valuable (most expensive one was $70) but they look real pretty in my china hutch.

Data entry, your username looks perfect for this post about collecting ....lol....

Well, right now i only collect ordinary books. The only precious book is a hand size dictionary French-Italian dated 1901 and belonged to my grandpa's father. I collect poetries (i store them in a special file in my comp) and can i say i collect memories?....:-)

The only other collection is a group of statuines that i bought during my trips or friends gave me. Mostly they are animal statuines but not the plain kind....they all are different, particular, almost deformed. They are made of different material as well: alabaster, grey rock, coral, ivory, wood, terracotta. I have a penguin i bought in Canada, a bull in terracotta i bought in Mexico, a wooden wolf from Jugoslavia, a dog made in red coral from Sardinia, a wooden fish from Corsica, a wooden fox from Switzerland and a beautiful alabaster butterfly from Paris. A friend brought me a three women rock statuine  from Peru, i have a snake in ivory tha my brother brought me from Kenia and small onyx pyramid from Egypt. The cutest is a little bird in white and black ceramic made by the Opi Indians in New Mexico and other animals like these.....

Hey, I too collect every thing! You should try eBay its great to sell of some of your stuff and buy more. And you would not believe what some things are worth! Take some of the neat things you have around your house, go to completed auctions on eBay, and see what people have sold them for.

Oh mine is such a bad collection of magazines and catalogs!!!  It's horrible.  I can't throw one away until the newest catalog comes in!  They're mostly home decorating catalogs and Euro clothing for kids catalogs.

I do collect cook books.  I have some of my Grandmother's that are all in Polish so I can't make much of anything with those!  I actually don't cook much of anything from the books.  I do read them though.  My Husband will divorce me if I buy one more, lol, he will!
