Beat Shyness

You are home alone.  You are feeling kind of down.  Shyness stopped you from being with the gang.  Okay it is a bummer …. But here is something you can do. 

1. Forgive yourself – you were born shy.  You do not have to stay shy.

2. PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE

 

Here is your special easy practice.

1. Write down an ice breaker. 

Be yourself.  Example – hi, my name is Marcia.  I love that necklace you are wearing.    It isn’t brain surgery just conversation.  A true compliment is a great ice breaker.

 

2. Stand in front of the mirror. 

Take a good look at yourself. 

 

3. Smile at yourself

 

4. Practice your ice breaker while looking in the mirror

Do this over and over until you feel comfortable. 

 

5. Go out and break the ice.
