As I have discussed on my earlier post, I am now in the midst of looking for a car and I am having such a difficult time. Loads of questions running through my head. Which model? How much can I really afford? Where to get a car that is reliable and trustworthy? If you have had experiences buying a used car please drop me a note. Will appreciate any kind of input at this juncture.

in the US, there's a website called carfax that tracks the history of each car based upon the vehicle identification number. is there a comparable such service in the UK?

Not knowing what is available in England, all I could tell you about models is that Honda & Toyota are consistently rated very high in reliability on the net over here. I would suggest you take someone who is familiar with cars with you & after one is chosen, have a mechanic check it out before buying. They allow you to do that here.
