taking a cue from happykat's monstrously successful "anonymous-only" blog with 1,300-plus comments (assuming that the # of comments is a major yardstick of success), let's try a slightly modified approach this time and see how it turns out. the rules are simple enough:
- every comment must be anonymous. make sure to tick the "anonymous" box before entering anything into the text box and clicking the submit button. non-anonymous comments will be deleted.
- every comment must be explicitly addressed to another sc user. thus, every comment must begin with the phrase "to xxxx" (less the quote marks), where xxxx = the valid sc username to whom you are directing your comment. comments that don't contain this explicit ly named recipient will be deleted.
- every comment must be limited to 5 comment lines or less. this is rather superfluous, as comments in happykat's blog rarely went beyond that length. i'm putting it here anyway, to nudge commentors to be short and sweet.
we can't impose a rule regarding subject matter. my hope is that topics evolve along the lines of friendly chat, love notes, sweet nothings, honest inquiry, and thoughtful criticism, rather than insult and counter-insult marathons. i thought of a rule about online civility, but hey, we're all thinking grownups or almost-grownups here, and this is supposed to be fun and games.
one last caveat: this is my blog space, and if everything gets out of hand, i reserve the right to delete specific comments which i find intrinsically and maliciously very offensive to other sc members and the sc community as a whole. this isn't another rule. it's my god-given right as far as this blog is concerned.
peace. love. understanding. forgiveness. hope. happiness. unity. soulcast rocks.
the first comment is mine.
