After eight years of taking care of every one, they seem incapable of taking care of themselves. Really, I only have myself to blame.
If I hadn't done so much for them, then they might have been forced to do for themselves. Now, they are floundering.
I'm sure we'll pull it together after the moment of adjustment, but in the meantime....it's like pulling teeth.
Since it's all my fault, I can't really bitch too much.....and THAT, my friends, is even more painful.
Not that i don't think five fucking people can actually manage to figure out where to put one single article of dirty laundry. You take it off, lift the little fucking door, and VIOLA....it goes bye-bye. Not exactly rocket science.
Anyhoo, I spent three solid hours on Sunday being the evil task-master; standing over everyone and making them pick up, clean, and scrub.
We're on our way to enlightenment......this morning, everyone put their dirty dishes in the dishwasher......even my husband.
I guess they don't like me when I'm in super-bitch-clean-up-your-shit mode. Too bad. If that's what it takes, then I'm willing to be super bitch for a short period of time to get every one back on track. I don't like it, but like I said, it really is my own fault.

Yah. I had a mom like you and she did the exact same thing you just did. I'm still learning and I've been out of the house and managing my own household for 15 years.
I'm forcing my sons to pick up after themselves (and using that to remember to do the same myself).

HK; I am going to be away for the wkend and I have had to provide my husband with a list of the chores I do each day (with instructions down to how to use the washing machine) and a schedule of what each daughter is meant to be doing each day.
I am expecting to come back to a chaotic house with none of the chores done which will not sit well with jetlag so it could well be me doing the screaming early next week!
