So I'm like feeling a little lazy because of my "hangover" from Christmas break and the New Year.

I decide that I'm too smart for my own good and procrastinate instead of working on my project that was due this morning, Monday. (BTW, It's 11:40PM on my clock right now)

Last Saturday I was at a coming-out party up in the country where I met two most magnificent angels I have ever seen; but that's another story.

What matters is that I arrived at the house at 2 in the morning, still dumbfounded by the sheer beauty that I had witnessed; after which I was replacing the strings of my electric guitar.  Before I knew it, I woke up at 10 in the morning.

So my project's like this: I have to make a website using HTML and CSS to make a tutorial about HTML and CSS... kinda stupid idea at first, until I found out that it's not as easy as it looks.

So I tried working non-stop since 10 in the morning until 9 in the morning the next day.. which is today.  It's crazy, and I definitely do NOT recommend going past 24 hours without sleep.

So what's your experience with sleep-deprivation?

ugh...you saw my blog entry last week re: the workday that wouldn't end, i trust? i was working until 3 am or so. and no, "healthy" is definitely not a word i'd use to describe it. :>

the first time i ever experienced sleep deprivation was after having my first baby.  i had no idea what lack of sleep could do to a person!

    it changes your personality completely!

plus there really no 'making up' for lost sleep....you end up tired for days afterward.

hope you can get some qualtiy sleep in soon.

at least you got to see two angels, right?

Umm...I did acid once in college and laughed for most of it... it was the most excercise my stomach has ever got and it was quite painful... so I never did drugs again....but I really wasn't all that tired.

The first time I actually felt tired after being up for so long was after having a baby...and like secret said...there is no making up for that!

I hope you are sleeping now!!! :)

piB, Believe it or not, I have never felt  deprived of sleep. You know why? Because I get to snooze until late mornings after a night's gig. Even when I was is school, I didn't experience that.

Speaking of motherhood (if I may ride on to SL and moms' comments), when my sis had her baby I got the chance to sleep with them. OMG, I didn't know that the sleeping pattern was different for mothers, waking up at night, having insufficient sleep, waking up early...and doing all these without fretting.

Try three or four days once. Man, 24 hours is bad enough.

A doctor got me hooked on pain meds. When I went off of them, the withdrawals were tremendous.  I was awake for 72 hours.  I was almost at the point of checking myself into a hospital.  It was unreal.

paid; I wrote not too long ago about driving cross country
    and not sleeping.

About 72 hours awake, I fell asleep in a motel room and
    woke up unable to breath.

I slept so  hard fluids drained into my throat and I didn't
awake till I could not get air.

Yeah, almost died, sleep is a good thing.

I used to give my wife a spray bottle full of ice water to
spray in my face if I looked sleepy while driving.

We don't do that anymore either.........................---()()---

You are so right. I'm a grumpy bitch when I lose too much sleep, and 24+ hours awake (which unfortunately I understand all too well) is just plain ugly.

I'm usually a very non-confrontational person, but I'd argue with God Himself and not think twice when I'm in that state! :-D

HI ! pib, this is the most severe torture for those who do not suffer from insomnia. My son met with an accident and I had to be awake in the hospital for almost 26 hrs. Just having thought of it, I was compelled to have a big yawn, before completing my sentence. Very cumbersome indeed. -pd

PIB stop being such a wuss. lol I've experienced many moments of sleep deprivation( MY profession, try doing a double at one job then cabbing it to the other to do a 3rd shift), and 24hrs is nothing try 48-72 hrs. This cycle has been repeated more than once or twice in a week.

Of course I can't remember where I put my keys or much less anything else in my home. I've fallen asleep in patients rooms and slept 24 hrs( passing out from sheer exaustion)in 1 entire day or twice in a week.......What was I talking about? I'm almost an Altimers patient, oh crap never mind. lyao

Good Luck on the assignment. I do all my best thinking last minute.Hope u do too!

I've currently been awake 24 hours, sitting at work.Trying to stay awake for another 2 hours and 15 minutes and its not working that well. consittering all the sound around me is like doubling and everythings louder, I'm tired as hell and everything seems to piss me off easy and I'm not confrontational. *Note to self, No more lack of sleep. Awake at 7am asleep by 10pm*

Ok so i am the biggest procrastanator ever. I go to ballstate university in indiana. I am a junior here at bsu and i have had to stay up for over 48 hrs for numerous reason but i tell you this trying to study for over 48hrs (almost straight) fcking sucks. I am actually hitting the 57hr mark as i am typing this. i had to stop reading because the gaps of the lines inbetween the letters were starting to make shapes and images. I started seeing things in the corner of my eyes (the paranio) like figures moving, people that werent really there and i just looked at my eyes in the mirror and my pupills are huge. I really have to get back to studying i have a huge test in another 8hrs. Wish me luck!!!
