Sadly, lice is very common depending on the school. Not that there's any snobbery in lice - they pick anyone to land on!! I know the treatments are only done once a week. That's why I do the vinegar thing too. Helps keep it down to a very dull roar. When I combed every two or three days, I'd find maybe one or two. That I can handle but THIRTY or so????
Bleghghghhaghgh... it gives me the heebiejeebie willies.... *twitch itch yuck*
X2 probably does have them. He probably hasn't bothered to check either... And since he's driving and sharing space with his dad in a rig, his dad will probably have them too.
Problem: Next time he comes home, do I let the kids stay with him? Do I have a choice??? And if they come home yet again with lice after we've treated and removed them all???? ARGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!! I could drive myself nuts with this...
I don't think that I can just not let my kids see their dad. He is only around once a month as it is. They get so upset when he doesn't see them.
The treatment isn't all that expensive here (there are a lot of poorer kids that get it and so they need to keep it cheap) and it's not like he couldn't have afforded it. He just didn't bother. That's what pisses me off. The fact that he pretends to listen drives me crazy. I haven't figured out if he's being passive aggressive or just plain lazy. I wish he'd get it through his head that he's not just annoying me but hurting them in the process.
This is typical. There have been times when JS should have gone in for antibiotics and not until he's come home again. I don't know how he can stand JS' coughing all night long either. For crying out loud, they're in the same room!
I'm mostly annoyed by having to once again wash all their stuff. I have a new washer/dryer combo that takes about 4 hours to complete one cycle. Usually that's not a problem but when you have to do four loads of laundry in a short period of time...
Purr....i once worked as counselor in a summer camp sponsored by a large company in Italy. Well, you wouldn't even imagine how many kids were sent with their head full of lices! One of the first thing the camp recommends parents is sending the kids for a medical so eventually those nasty bugs can be detected in time.
But since they didnt want to keep the kids at home for the summer and they had to go in vacations without, the very responsible parents didn't even say to the doctors about the lices....Guess who had to take care of all of them? Me and the other counselors. It was simply nasty. We wore surgical gloves and kept our hair tighlty in a plastic cap. I had to take care of 6 kids a day for the whole treatment cycle. Other counselor had the same amount of kids.....
These poor kids were not allowed then to have lunch with their peers and they have to stay in separare playrooms..they were miserable, we were miserable...i couldn't stop feelign itchy all day...and checking my scalp....its really disgusting... ..
Luckily my daughter never had an episode until now. It must be some kind of karma compensation after having washed all that hair.......lol.
About your ex....well, thats why we are ex.....they wouldn't listen to us even if we would be telling them to evacuate the house because of a terroristic attack...they would say.."Stop trying to control my life"... Specially if there are new SO involved...they have to show who is the man.....
sorry for your ordeal.......its really unnerving..it makes you just wanting to smash his head with a gigantic bottle of vinegard....or make him drink it....:lol...Good luck...
That really sucks. Lice are...they're gross. And the treatment to get rid of them is so time-consuming sometimes.
When I was a kid, there was a huge outbreak of headlice at this (you guessed it) expensite hoity-toity private school that I went to. We had in-class demonstrations and check-ups, schoolwide assemblies...the works. My teacher was checking me for lice and said that she'd found some on my head, so they sent me home with an order to make sure that the lice was gone before I came back...and a reccomendation that I get my hair cut short for the duration.
As a girl, I'm sure you can imagine that getting my hair hacked off was no fun at all.
What's worse...turns out there wasn't one fucking louse on my scalp. Not. One.
-S.
Hmmm... I've never heard of that... I think I just might try it!
Thanks CW!
