Saddam Hussein was hanged for “war against humanity” on weekend.
And CNN reports today that the death toll of American soldiers in Iraq has reached 3000. More than 22,000 other troops have been wounded in this second Iraq War.
The NewYork Times has called it “3000 deaths in Iraq, countless tears at home.”
So, who has won and who has lost?
As the NewYork Times wrote “Saddam Hussein never bowed his head, until his neck snapped.”
This report tells in graphic detail how Saddam was confident, calm and even satirical at the gallows; never wavering from his conviction that he is giving his life for his country.
Can Bush show the same confidence about the War in Iraq he is fighting which nobody knows why it’s being fought?
At first Bush said, Iraqis were involved in the twin tower bombing. That was proved to be a lie. Then came accusation of amassing weapons of mass destruction. That also turned to be a lie. Then Saddam was hanged for his “crimes against humanity” saying he ordered killing of 143 people some decades ago.
So, why not Bush be hanged for getting 3000 young Americans and countless Iraqis killed in war that has no purpose, except maybe petrol for Bush family’s oil business?
