Over the last 2 days we got about 6 inches of fresh snow here in town. Then the clouds blew away and the temps dropped. It was 15 this am, and will get down to zero tonight. So now we have ice to contend with. And all these tourists in town, who don't know how to drive in snow OR ice. Add to that the fact that we have at least 4 roundabouts, which city folk aren't used to either, and it all makes for some sloppy driving.

Some questions I have about driving in the snow: Why don't people adequately warm up their car? Drives me crazy when they pull out in front of you, obviously not warmed up, and they putter in front of you and make you slow down. And why would they not wipe all the snow off their car? Do they not know that it can be a dangerous obstacle to come to a stop and have a wall of snow cover their windshield? Or do they think it looks cool, driving around with snow piled up on the car?

Sorry, just venting. Can't wait for the tourists to go home! Oh, I promise to be nice to them in the meantime! "Hello sir, how can I help you today?"

Oh, here in New England too!  When the snow dumps down, everyone 'thinks' they know how to drive.  Everyone in an SUV that is ;-) and it's not me, lol!  I just love getting smashed with ice and a wall of snow...nothing like making sure the heart is still working!  Rotaries, or roundabouts, they suck on a sunny day here!
We have NO SNOW!!!  We had a dusting a couple of weeks ago that melted in an hour.  It's been a WARM winter, 60 degree's on some days!  It was 40 today, same for tomorrow and Saturday.  I can't believe I have to go to Florida to see snow on Main Street in Disney!  My Daughter doesn't even know what a snow suit looks like!  She will never be able to find the humor in "A Christmas Story" where the boy is so bundled up he can't move!  I'm going to have to tell her "Back in the olden days, there was this white stuff called, snow!"  LOL!

I've got to get back to packing...grrrrrr, I'm so putting this off way longer than I should be!

COLD?...
We had a winter weather advisory going on and the roads were really slick this morning. But, as with anything, there was a pretty side to it. I snapped a photo that I thought I would share with you.

This is the view from my back porch...
I can remember two times when things happened in the snow that I can not explain. The first time was in the hills of Calistoga. I had gone for a nature hike when it started to snow. I tried to build a fire with leaves, and twigs, but my matches got wet a...
