I have Noggin (learning/fun channel for preschoolers) on in the background for the little one this morning, and Cookie Monster, Grover, and whatever that big blue fuzzy guy with the purple nose and wicked-looking eyebrows is called (Harry/Hairy?) were singing that song a few minutes ago. Totally cracked me up.

"Don't you wish you / Were fuzzy and blue too?"

Ya know, I never really thought about it, but I think I'll pass on that. Thanks anyway. :-D Though if I had to be a monster, fuzzy and blue would be my preferred combo. Throw some silver in there and I'll be extra happy. And I want really fuzzy fur - not that nappy stuff Grover got stuck with.

It was an extra-early morning for us (little one got uncovered by wriggling around a lot, and I think that's what woke her up). I guess it's just as well, because she interrupted my already quite bad night-long nightmare. Ugh. I'm hoping my DH will watch her for an hour or two later and let me sleep. There have to be some advantages to his working second shift, after all! ;-)

I hope you get to nap.

I could think of worse things than being fuzzy and blue.

Now I feel like singing "C" is for Cookie!!

    Thanks, SL.

"C is for cookie, and that's good enough for me!"

I think I sang that after a not-so-hot exam grade once in college. :-D

Hope you got to put your feet up for a few minutes, at least.

It's been some years since I watched Sesame Street, and we don't have Noggin.  I think today I would be Mimi the Grouch.

    Oh I love trash!

Everything dirty and dingy and dusty.

Everything rotten or ragged or rusty.

Oh, I love, I love, I love trash!

I did get an hour nap today, because little one took a good one for once. Yay! :)

Ed: That's an amusing mental image, though I don't even know what you look like (beyond a very basic picture, anyway). I love silver though, esp. paired with a deep sapphire blue.

Paper: Christmas was great! I finally got a printer, so now I get to actually see my photos on paper! There's something about printed pictures that's extra special - lots of mailing to the grandparents in my future, since that's the sort of surprise they'd love. :) It's a scanner, too, and you can change one color ink at a time, for far less than the combo color cartridges.

Mimi: I'm sorry you feel (or felt) grumpy today! Nothing wrong with Oscar every now and then - I loved his crusty attitude when I was little. I think he and maybe King Friday from Mr. Rogers were two of my favorite tv characters.

Although I am more of an old-school Sesame Street fan, one of my favorite songs is from the newer version, called "What is Friend?"  Great song :D

Glad the napless wonder relented for today!  As I told your DH once, "independent spirit" is only charming when you're NOT the parents ;)

So I was having a theoretical argument with a friend, and we couldn't decide who would win a no-holds-barred fight, Cookie Monster or the Count?...
