Who's reading Zebra (1):

This is my first blog on this particular site but I must confess I have been reading everyone else's blogs just for fun for months now. I don’t really know what I am looking for when I am reading but it has helped me understand that everyone has problems. Thank goodness.

My main problem lately has been about the future and where I am ‘supposed’ to be headed. People ask me everyday almost what I am doing when I graduate and I have absolutely no clue. I am talking about graduating college and I just thought I might have figured it out by now. I still have no clue where to live, work, or what to say to these people.

It is totally embarrassing to tell someone you have no clue what your plans are for your own damn life.

    Hi Zebra.
The future is a massive thing, yet people seem to want you to decide it in a short space of time. Don't. It'll still be there when you're ready for it. And don't be embarrassed - I currently have no plans for my life either (have had a few, none worked out) End of the day you need time to sort out what you're going to give the next few decades to. Take it. And have a good Christmas

It will come to you...don't worry. Your first priority is to get started with whatever you want. You'll need a job of course and right now almost any job will do.
What's your major? There is help in job placement available right from your school...or there should be at least.
Somewhere down the line you'll find what makes your boat float and then you'll know without having to ask.
Meanwhile...relax and make the best of it. Merry Christmas

    Zebra....welcome here...in Xmas time....nice....:-)

Let me tell you that you are not alone in this...and your indecision is nothing to be ashamed of...
i have had your same identical problem when i was going to choose my major in college. I just couldn't figure out what i was supposed to do .
I then changed my major twice hoping the new direction of my studies would give me more clarity: so from English i switched to Philosophy.
    Well, no clue either.
I was yes getting the best grades but still no definition , no indication....
Guess what? Life decided for me.
They offered me a job i couldn't turn down and in doing so i clearly understood what i really wanted to do....i have worked for 12 years in that field.
This for telling you that sometimes life has its own way to put you in the right place....but you have to be prepared.
Btw....i still dont know now what i am supposed to do for the rest of my life...
Merry Christmas...have fun now and relax..

Zebra: welcome to SC. Season's greetings to you.

'Embarrassed' is often a good feeling when you have nothing concrete to tell people about your current situation. Better to keep mum than to be misquoted later on.

See, College gives you only about ten percent of the applied knowledge you will need in life; the rest being the experience of getting a good education.

So, just remember the kind of things you enjoy doing, what things are your priorities in life, and what you need to get to where you want to be.

Those simple steps often give you an insight into what job would suit your lifestyle, whether to go for a higher degree, or what cause to pursue in life. No experience is totally useless.

Have fun this Christmas and New Year, okay? Let the post-graduation era take care of itself, with a little help from yourself of course. Take care.

    Welcome to SoulCast.

Not many of us have any clue as to what we're doing on this rock.  You're not alone in this endeavor.  If someone professes to know, they're probably selling something you don't really need.

I hope you find this particular endeavor(blogging, that is) as rewarding as I find it.  That's at least something.

    Best regards,

    Grape.
