I can't remember exactly how many years have passed since I bothered to take the 20 minute trip into the city. But, this year was different. The weather was clear and warm after passing showers this morning and believe it or not, traffic wasn't that heavy through the tunnel. The big attraction, of course, this time of year is Rockefeller Center with the gigantic lighted Christmas Tree that draws people from all over the world. Couples skated on the ice below, as thousands packed like sardines to see the beautiful decorations of angels, snowflakes and lights. Musicians played their horns, as one very talented mime performed for all. But when the smell of marijauna began to waft through the air from someone in the crowd, my claustrophobia set in and I knew it was time to go.

    Ariene,
i remember my only Xmas at New York years ago as one of the most beautiful Xmas ever. The cold was ferocious, the snow and the wind constant yet that day when we went to Rockfeller Center to admire the skaters and the huge Xmas tree it was a splendid sunny day.....i simply couldn't believe i finally was there....
i mean..i had been seeing that place so many times in movies and tv and i was finally there...in the middle of the crowd, the kids, the golden angels, the Xmas music... walking around that enormous tree and eating some hot dog from a street vendor....i couldn't stop taking pictures..

Thanks for making me remember that Xmas...it was truly something...

I'm glad you have a good memory of NYC during the holidays. I don't know if they did this in years past, but there were moving snowflakes projected onto one of the buildings nearby. That, too, was really beautiful. Have a Happy, gingersoul!

....its starting to look like that is not in the stars for me....
What is the cure for a loss of appetite? Recently, I cannot seem to eat much food, nor do I have the desire to eat. I am not sure why exactly, but I have experienced this in the past and have no idea how I got back to eating....
