I know. I oughta know!! I've been wearing glasses since the second grade. I've even lost a quarter of my eyesight in my right eye from a freak 1 in a million labour thing. My brain just shut down that piece of my vision. Eventually the nerve died from lack of use. Sooooo....
What I'm trying to say is ... well. I'm bad. :-(
I'm hoping some day to get lasex done....
*Wow... to be able to wake up in the middle of the night and not have to fumble around for glasses.... SIGH....*
Wow, silver! Six! You were young too! Have you ever worn contacts? I love my contacts!!!! I've had contacts since age 18 and never gone back to wearing glasses full time. Now I feel like I've forgotten to get dressed when I don't have them in. It's become second nature to put them in every morning.
The eye thing is okay. I have weird moments where certain light throws me off a bit. My depth perception is rather screwy and at certain angles and distances, I can't read things. I've had to relearn to shave my armpit on that side and a couple other strange things. All in all, it could have been worse.... I could have lost full sight or more vision spots with each pregnancy and I didn't.
Life is good... :-)
That's funny! I know a couple of people who absolutely turn green when someone touches their eyeball...
Actually, the contact doesn't touch your eyeball, it sits on a layer of moisture. It would damage your eye (and hurts like and SOB!!) if it did. That's what happens when you fall asleep with them in and the layer of moisture dries up. It's a lot like peeling off a layer of skin when that happens.
Obviously, I've done that before... *cringe*
OH but I'd NEVER go back to wearing glasses exclusively!!!! There is so much more FREEDOM with contacts! I don't spend all day pushing them up. There aren't any blind spots (besides my own). They don't dent my head. They don't fall off. They can't be grabbed. They can't be smeared with little fingers. They can't be bashed into my sensitive eyebrow ridge or the bridge of my nose.
Need I say any more???
Just don't sleep in them, that's all. You aren't supposed to anyways.
