Have you ever sat and actually watched a cartoon with your kids.  Or any kid's show on Nickelodeon or Disney or whatever.  These are not jokes meant for children.  I'm currently watching a show on Noggin called Lazytown.  The "badguy" of the show just called the kids blowhards.  How is funny to a kid that has no idea what that means?  How is that funny to a parent who has to explain it?

Before this we watched "Jimmy Neutron".  Jimmy spent the while episode trying to use science to prove there was no Santa.  And up until the end when Santa showed up, my cousin kept asking me, "there's no such thing as Santa Claus"?

I won't even get started on Spongebob Squarepants.  I love that show.  But whenever I laugh, I realize how many adult jokes are in a single episode.

I wish I would have taped all the "Sesame Street" episodes because my kids won't have quality TV to watch.

You can actually buy tapes of the sesame street shows...
i think i remember having similar thoughts when my kids started to watch The Rugrats, and I realized that Nick was alot different than PBS....

Oh, and you didin't see the worst yet. Do you know Bratz dolls? Well, they made a cartoon about them and you cant believe the things these dolls do: dressing up like slut first of all, talking always about shopping and boys, obsessing with their look....luckily my daughter never liked them even as dolls...

she grew up with Sesame Street....you can buy the videos, Secret is right...everything is better than some current cartoons...and Nick is a too mixed age channel ....

But i have other problems ....she is into music now and she likes to watch videos.....and there are some videos going on now that are mini soft porno movies ......surely not for her age...i am constantly checking on her ...but its difficult because when she goes with her father they let her go on Yahho videos unsupervised......

Has anyone seen SHREK?????????? That just CANNOT be intended for kids. And don't get me started on "The cat in the hat" movie w/ Mike Meyers. I apologise, you meant TV shows. Does anyone else think Sportacus is HOT HOT HOT?LOL I realise you'll probably block me for that........I had to say it.

purple: you're right, movies or tv.  Shrek was hilarious, for adults.  My little cousin didn't get most of the jokes (thank god).  And The Cat In The Hat had sooooo many sexual jokes I was kinda disgusted.
