Do you have a bestfriend from collge? Are you still in touch?

Well, I introduce to you today my bestfriend from college.

We have met, excuse me for saying this OMG - 18 years ago! And we are still very good friends even now.

Yes, she lives in Hongkong while I live in Europe. She is married to a Scottish chap while I married a German.

We shared our dreams of the future on the day we met, the year 1988, and felt a special bond instantaneously. 8 years later, she visited me in my dream continent in Europe - she was working for an international airline in her dream job, and while walking arm in arm on the promenade of a famous shopping district in Hamburg, she turned to me and squeezed my arms, "Look at us!" she squealed ----No, that was I lol. My friend smiled serenely, and quipped in her dry humor, "Watch out that you don´t burst!"

I remember the day we met as if it was yesterday (I feel good writing this because I have always wanted to say this and kind of boast that I have almost a couple of decade of history behind me).

I was never a morning person. Circumstances in my life forced me to be. Primary school was tough. High School was not better (We latecomers had to wait behind closed gates until the national anthem has been sung...ugh, memories are rushing in that are not pleasant). College prove even to be the greatest challenge. We had to wear uniforms pencil cut skirts and blouses. The only choice of footwear to make the whole apparel attractive is low heeled pumps.

So, my first day in college was class on a Monday - in my Freshman years as a BA student in Mass Communication, was Political Science at 9 am in the building across a wide campus lawn on the 6th floor - without elevators.

I was almost never late but always just in the nick of time - when the professor and students have already setteled in their seats and hum of the early morning chat has subsided. 18 years ago my low heeled pumps clattered noisily in the room, all eyes discreetly followed me after I greeted our professor, who was collecting our classcard. It was a big class of 30. All seats were occupied - besides the seat of a young lady, so lovely and serene like a Spanish senorita (please imagine the curl ~ on the n).

My bestfriend.**

**A blog at a later time about my bestfriend in college will follow.

    I'm still friends with my best friend from college.  We live three hours apart and do see each other from time to time.  We've been friends for 23 years.

    Thanks Secret!

    I did not want to do it at first  because I was not sure if I can manage it. I do want to reply to everyone in a personal way and as you know it takes time.

    I admire how you multi-task honey!

    My love and affection for everyone here overweighed the fear of showing private pictures.  As you know, I have been in MySpace since summer this year and I have not had any bad experience.

    I am so proud of my girls and my girls.

    I had dinner tonight with my girlfriend, who´s on the upper left corner of the photo montage.  She was so fascinated from anecdotes I told her from MySpace and SC.  She was just like me before summer - used the Net for email purposes only.

    Thanks for the email btw,  Jenna forwarded it to me.  I look forward to Sat.

    Hi CW!

    Thanks for finding time to drop by.

    I have a big circle of friend in college.  It was unbelievable how close we were.  I miss them.  And it was only through the women that I met through my children that I felt I have found the feeling of coming home.  The home that I thought only my friends from college could provide me.

    The first 7 years living abroad was a difficult time.  The people I met failed to measure to the ideals of friendship I was use to.

    It´s was nice recalling the day I met my bestfriend and our reunion.

    Again the best of the holidays to you!

    Sweetie!

    Thanks =  )

    I am actually a planner.  You know,  the girl who planned with 7 what she would do until she reach 30? LOL

    This was a spontaneous idea and I am just following my gut.  It is theraphy for me.

    How rewarding that so many are finding joy in them.

    Warm embrace to you hun,

    I have quite a few school friends with who I'm still in touch.

    The one that I've known the longest? Has to be the one who I met in grade 1 - we were both 6 years old then, now look at us!!! We're turning 24 next year :D

    She lives in the US at the moment, but we still e-mail and so on ;)

    Paper.......i loved this post......because you made me remember of my best girflriend who i met, like you, in school.

    We crossed our path in high school...and we chose to seat together after the cruel fate threw me sitting close to another girl (who we despite deeply). We have been soulmate until her death 7 years ago. I always have her in my heart and memory and there is always something that reminds me and makes me think: what she would do? what she would say? how she would act? what if ........

    Psst....she is the one i told you you remind me of with your silly words, with your being so shy yet bold, with your love for Germany, words and your intellectual curiosity...and even your goofiness ....:-)

    Keep your friend close and grow together....love to both of you! {{{{{{ hugs}}}}}
