Last night, I went to see the movie The Lakehouse. Like most movies that pluck at your heart's strings, this one indeed had me emotionally stirred. I had tears rolling down my cheek at various moments. But I thought it was quite interesting that the movie incorporated a book that was very similar to it's actual storyline, which was Persuasion by Jane Austen (one of my favorite authors by the way). I don't like to ruin the story for movies, but I will say this much, watch it if you do not feel that love exists. I'm sure you will think twice after watching it, especially if you get a bit wet in the eyes.
Anyways, going along with the premise of the movie....has anyone ever wondered if someone they met in the past could possibly be the person he/she was meant to be with? Or can love be true enough to want to wait for someone? Wait 2 years for a kiss? To hold hands? To look into each other's eyes? In this life, it seems false and that love and relationships have been corrupted. Maybe that's why I don't mind watching those kinds of movies. OR maybe that's why everyone does, to gove us hope that there is such a thing.
