did you SEE that netherlands/portugal game??? i could NOT believe that ref, i've never seen so many cards in a match! he broke the record, but i could not get over the fact that he just completely lost control of the match. it was entertaining though. and did you see totti on that final kick today?? i was getting so frustrated but was happy italy was able to pull through. i'm so nervous for friday though, i hope germany pulls through against argentina!

I had a graduation and a party to go to, so I've missed a few games, unfortunately!! (Restaurant had a TV in boys restroom...unfair!) I heard it was nutso! I wished I had taped it!! I was ecstatic when Italy was awarded that penalty kick! They played strong throughout the first half, but Australia took the second. With a man down, (Materazzo) I didn't really know how it was going to play out. Honestly, they could have scored at least 3, instead of a nail-biting ending like today. (Did you love the close up of his eyes, panning out to his face and then BOOM! GOAL!! Totti the Hotti...So HOT!) What was not hot was the junior level of play going on in the Ukraine and Switzerland game. Hello boys, welcome to the big leagues! Both teams were all over the place!! Maybe it can be chocked up to the youth of the team, and Ukraine's first World Cup experience, but if Ukraine has any chance of not being embarassed by Italy, they better get it together. Also, I hate when a major game comes down to penalty kicks. I feel it's more luck involved, rather than skill. Not cool. I wanted to say more, but I'm tired and I need to pray that Ghana can somehow miraculousy beat Brazil tomorrow morning!! Thanks for the comment; keep reading and watch the world cup!!

i can't believe how hooked i am to soccer this year, i am NOT a sports fanatic at all :) but it's hard not to be, the games are so exciting. mmmm, i love totti... i actually sent a text to my friend that said "totti=hotti" LOL. i'm so sorry about ghana, too... i thought they played a much better game than brazil earlier. it's too bad, they absolutely deserved to advance and one of brazil's goals looked as though it was really off-side. but what do i know? i wanted switzerland to get the win yesterday, and i can't stand when it's a matter of penalty kicks. a team can play like a** the whole game long, it doesn't seem fair to end like that. that's the end of the road for ukraine though, i can't see them going any further.

I know, it seemed like a long shot that Ghana could pull it off. They definitely had their chances; they played better than Brazil throughout the game. I think due to their inexperience they seemed almost lost at what to do once they got a good shot at the goal. It always went wasted, wide, up and never in. I'd give them a few years and they'll be a contender again. They definitely put up a good show this year! Did you see the clips of Ghana citizens watching the games in the field on a little black and white tv? It's heart breaking and heart warming at the same time. I LOVE this sport! Brazil, no matter how much the media wants to hype up their powerful aura, is not by any means unbeatable. They've shown sloppiness, and have their weak spots. And remember, every dog has its day, and everyone loves to root for the underdog. If the Boston Red Sox could finally win the world series in baseball after however many years, Brazil can be beaten, too. Legacies were made to be broken. Only caught the second half of France vs. Spain. I'm happy Zidane got a goal, it being his last World Cup and all. It's always nice to go out on a high note. It should be a great game with Argentina and Germany going at it. Germany looks good, and plays tough, but Argentina has some killer quick foot work. How much is the home field advantage going to affect either team? Will the ref be skewed one way or another? Who wants it more? Can't wait to see who winds up victorious!
