The page you were looking for no longer exists

I recently got into a debate with a Christian over whether or not Jesus was God. During the course of our discussion, he said to me "if Jesus existed then he was a lunatic, a liar, or the son of God."

From my studies, I have concluded that all other religions such as. Hinduism, Buddhism. Confucianism, and Islam were founded by human beings and are based on man-made philosophies, rules and norms for behavior. If the founders of these religions were taken out of their prospective religions little would change.

However, if you take Jesus Christ out of Christianity there would be nothing left. Biblical Christianity is not just a philosophy of life, nor an ethical standard, nor obedience to religious ritual. True Christianity is based on a vital, personal relationship with a risen founder who is our living Savior and Lord.

I know what I believe however, I would like to know what your thoughts of this are.

I don't know if Hinduism actually has a founder. Buddhism grew out of Hinduism, sort of the way Christianity and Islam grew out of Judaism.

So if you took Mohammed, Jesus Christ and Siddartha Gautama out of their respective faiths, you'd be left with the two parent religions. Certainly not the three offshoots, but then again hardly nothing.

But to your Question, I refer you to John 3:16 and Luke 3:22. That's who I believe Jesus is.

    Amen.

Hi everyone, cumudgeon is right Hinduism does not have a foinder. However, Buddhismis is based on the teachings of Gantama Bubbha who is universally recognized by Buddhists as the Supreme Budda of our age. and than you all for your comments, I hope to hear many more on this subject.

I'm really interested if anyone could tell me about the history of Hinduism. If there is no founder, how did it come about?

NS:  Jesus Christ was and is God.   I know of no other religion who preaches their founder was God.  The main thing that appeals to me about Christianity (other than a personal relationship with Jesus) is the way in which we are continually reminded throughout the Old and New Testaments  to take care of widows, orphans, and the poor.  This is my one concern about Christian churches.  I do not believe they do nearly enough to help the poor.  I believe if they did what they should in this regard, the government would save a ton of money on welfare programs.  My favorite charity apart from my tithe to the Church is the Salvation Army, because of the tremendous work they do for the poor.  The other thing which sets Christians apart from all other religions is the ressurection of Jesus from the dead.

Before I go on to discuss the topic I will like to let you know that you are a unique being with unique qualities. You are wonderfully made by God the creator, loaded with potentials...
Did you read the blog entry below about Adam's transgression? Now read this: How does Jesus define righteousness? It it obedience to the 10 commandments? Is it some sort of formula that we have to follow?...
Have a Godly time!

As Christian's we learn that the just shall live by faith alone, so what is faith and how do we get it....
You do not have to live in bondage to things that you have done in the past nor things that others have done to you. Set yourself free through none other than through the Lord, Jesus Christ....
