I realize that I've not been a very loyal blogger here, but how do I get noticed?  I don't get any replies or NOTHING??  :(  Am I alone here?
I like interacting, so for me its a bit of a disappointment to log in and find my posts still uncommented to...

Any suggestions?

I never get noticed either.  I think you have to write something really raunchy so people will read it.  Otherwise you could try to make friend with the big players.  Try to contact directly to the ones who are always on the most "popular posts".  Personally, I'm losing interest in this whole thing....................

the trick is to comment on other peoples posts. I don't mean comments like "hey, come read my blog", but real comments. I hope this helps :)

You don't have to comment on the 'popular' folks.......but nobody is going to know you're here unless you comment, like bloc said, on other blogs.  It helps if you do this on a regular basis, which if you think about it, is how most relationships are established anyway...

Be a good neighbor. Write about what you feel someone would be interested in. After a few hits people get comfortable reading your blog and then they start to look for you. They Pick up your name on their Fav's and away you go.

Whether or not you comment on the Popular ones is not material. You build your own.

    Danetteb:
I personally don't care whether I get noticed or not.

I blog here to rant and rave and not to get noticed. If they do comment on anything I post, that's a bonus. I'm here to express myself. I hope you'll do the same.

Try not to be bothered too much.

    Oh Yay!!!

Thanks guys for all the comments.  The advice was nice to read.  But most of all, it was encouraging to hear that I'm not the only struggling one.

I'm currently also looking at all the posts which don't have comments, and if I have something to say, I comment.  I realize that we're all struggling to get readers, and comments - specially if you post as little as me :P  But I think if all of us who don't get comments so often, comment on each others' posts, we might get a bit more "popular".

Oh well, I'll try it for a bit longer - though my first and main blog will still get my fuller attention.  Seeing that no images are allowed here, I seem to feel a bit less motivated.  I'm a visual person, and though I love reading and writing a lot, I feel like my imagination is tied up if I can't use images.

Here's then to me writing raw and imageless!!

they are supposed to be adding images soon. They've said that a few times now.

You are correct that you like many are struggling but certainly you are not alone. A determined approach is bound to elicit the required response. Yours is an honest expression and I do share it sincerely. There are people who start resorting to cheap tactics of writing loose to draw the attention of others which approach is obviously not a healthy one and I am sure you are not that type. Sure, you must get noticed by a large group of people in days to come. All the best.

To get noticed, you do just what you did yesterday, you comment on others' posts. You don't have to write something nasty or provocative, although it certainly helps it if is interesting! :)

I would have commented on your blog last night after returning from work, but as it was, I guess I was so tired I nodded off with my BlackBerry in my hand (I didn't even post! **sniff**).

But if it makes you feel better, you did get my attention (which is why I am here now).

This is not to say I only comment on those who write comments to me, though. Quite often, I will comb the list of blogs--starting at the middle or end--because I know there are those who receive little, if any response. Being the comment slut that I am, I completely empathize.

And as far as popularity is concerned, we all start at the bottom. In fact, I just found a screen print of my blog from July 19, 2006 (it isn't posted anymore), and you know what it says? 'Who is reading JadeLondon...Currently, no one.'

So, yes--it bites; but we have all been there!

    Danette.......

Jade is rigth......do what you are doing...comment in other people's blogs..sometimes there is not enough time in one day to answer our favorite people and write new posts And scooping around for new blogs. i usually try to do like Jade...i like to go to visit teh back pages and look for some title that intrigues me...i started only 3 months ago posting a comment after another one....then i started noticing that some people i was commenting was reading me. and commenting on MY blogs...and bam...its all starts in this way..dont try to be nasty or rude or extremely provokative..be yourself ...i answered to you in my blog..thank you again for visiting..i will be visiting you from now on..its simple like that..i wish you a great experience here..you are only at the beginning... hug.....

I think you have posed an interesting question Danette.  I have only been on this site for about 6 months maybe nearly 7 months.  I do get people reading my posts and sometimes I will post maybe 3 items in one day.  Then I dont post for weeks.  I find certain topics will grab people's attention more.  I notice topics to do with weight, body size etc seems to get a lot of reads.  I guess if you reply to others blogs as well you get more noticed.  I must admit I dont reply that much.  I apologise for not commenting much on your posts but im doing two today!!

    Sweetlady,

Did you per chance notice the dates of these blogs and comments?

More than half or nealy all of the names on this particular item are long

    gone.

But I'll take notice. I have not seen your blogs before.
