  I don't know what people you are hanging around with but I really think you need to seek out new people.
  America has Freedom of Speech, which allows you to even vent, you could be arrested and beaten or executed for voicing your oppinion in other countries.
  You are entitled to hate America.  There are so many people that have risked their lives to come here so I don't think it can be that bad.
  If you think that America is only ridden with thses problems you are mistaken. I believe there is still so much beauty and positive things here. It is up to you not to get swallowed up by the negative.  Take the time to find beauty and good things and try to spread that around and maybe you can make a difference.  If you look for the bad things you will find them but if you look for the good you will find that also.
  It is easy to get angry and depressed sometimes when watching the news, so I don't watch the news except occasionally.  Well, good luck and I hope you come to peace with your views.

  Thenaked........well, i happen to be European. But i live in America by almost 11 years. I think i can talk with enough experience about both places. Europe is free as America. It has many different cultures as America. French people is different from Italians, Spain is way different from Norway. Have you ever lived in any other country beside America? Believe me, America is not the world.

  Its just the biggest western country. America doesnt have the monopoly of freedom, politic or religion. You only happen to have all these things in a larger scale. You weigh more because your numbers. But since then quantity is necessary quality? Europe is small compared to America, easy to see. But our history is old thousand years. America is still a baby. As any baby you have your intemperance, you experimentations, your stupidity and your greatness.

  America, as any other place, has its beauty and its ugliness. Because of the numbers i was talking above, sometimes you have to dig deeply to find the gold though. Very deeply. I have seeen things and people here that i would never see in my country, luckily. I heard the most absurd stuff and met the weirdest people.

  I still couldnt trade my country with this one but i have had a good life here up to now, built great memories, met great people (included some here at SC). I know how to recognize the good and the bad.

  So, Galya, if you dont like it you have several options: you can stay and be miserable (as i have been my first years), you can stay and try to change things around you and inside youself (like i did) or you can stay and vent as long as you want. 

  But yet you can alwasy leave. Only thing...i bet that like Secret said, you will end up having issues with people everywhere. What the heck upset you so much, btw?

I know the news can put out any message they want but that is their right. I have never seen a newscaster that was arrested for Treason or have I heard of any channel cut off that happened to say the wrong thing. How many times has there been marches and protests and no one ever got arrested for what they had to say, action was taken when things got out of hand.
