I have been seeing so many posts today relating to the death sentence allegedly imposed upon Saddam Hussein that have prompted me to post this.
Death by hanging…Is it appropriate?

For raping and killing many women and children, I think the bastard should be castrated.

For murdering thousands of people, I believe he should be executed.

However, being the compassionate and nice guy that I am, I think he should be given a choice in his manner of death.

Confused? Let me explain…
I think that Saddam should be taken to an abandoned, windowless barn on a sparse piece of land.

He should be brought up very close a table that is secured to the floor, and told to lay his cock n’ balls on it. Then, he should have a nail bent over them (to firmly hold them in place).

Gasoline or some other accelerant should be poured about the barn, especially in Hussein’s immediate area. With one hand handcuffed behind his back, he should be handed a sharp hunting knife, and told to “make a choice.”

Then the building should be set on fire, and the doors locked.

Armed with assault rifles, federal agents should monitor the progress from a safe distance.

I'd say he's better of alive than dead.  While locked up in isolation (solitary confinement) without any human communication at all, it won't be long before he contemplates suicide.   Alone, he will be experiencing sleepless nights to be haunted by the innocent ghosts of those whom he murdered.  Remember Hitler, it's the easiest way out for a troubled man with a troubled conscience.

Saddam committing his own personal suicide; is the more humane and sane option than death by hanging.  That way, his death can't be utilized as a rallying point for any political agenda by any interested party.

    LOL :D

Your execution sounds worse than the hanging :)

The truth is, when I read that he's gonna be sentenced by hanging, the first thought that came to mind was; hanging? that sounds a bit medieval. Why not by gun?

Anyway, I kinda agree with FD. Death is just making it easier for him. He should be prisoned for life, preferably in an american prison :)

    Cheers!
  • curmudgeon said on Nov 06, 2006....
It's up to the Iraqi People to determine the method. All forms of execution are brutal, but if hanging is what Iraqi Law now mandates, then that's that.

The reality of the "life in prison" punishment is that there is still contact with the outside world. Here in the U.S., gang leaders living out life sentences still run their operations even from solitary confinement. Were Saddam sentenced to life, there would always be the possibility of his supporters mounting a coup. While he is alive, there is the hope that he will return.

Martyrs eventually become memories. Imprisoned leaders become collateral over which terrorists negotiate through hijackings, bombings and assassinations. In the grand scheme of things, Saddam is probably better off dead.

    missb,
Although I understand your point, I do believe that even life in prison would be too good for a man of Hussein's caliber. He is the purest form of evil, and evil should be banished from the earth, but not with out a little torture first (as he's dealt to others), followed by a very horrible death.

He should die and only die. I have to say that all that torture, vengeance and what not; it is simply wasteful and stupid. I challenge someone to show me one good thing that would come from revenge. I know there is an example to be made, but I think that the price of revenge torture is too high in this case. Why waste recourses torturing or imprisoning him? Kill him and be done with it, the world will not be better for his pain. No one will come back to life, no scars will go away.

Stretching his neck will be enough. Personally if I was going to be killed, I would go for a firing squad. It has class, substance, dignity and you die standing.

Wasteful and Stupid?  I'll accept your challenge to show you one good thing that would come

    it is one good reason.

How can the price of revenge torture be too high in this case. There is no reason for imprisoning

You completely miss the lessons of people like Hitler or Saddam Hussein if you just view them as evil monsters separate from humanity. The line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. You HAVE to remember that they are human beings, nothing more, and nothing less. You have to remember what we as humans are capable of, or you fall into the same trap they did.

Reread your plans for torturing Saddam and tell me that a good man would do that to someone, anyone. You do not lessen the evils of the world by perpetuating your own, no matter who you are doing it to.

that simply suit you at the time of writing.

As far as the hearts of all human beings, you forget that Hussein is a heartless bastard, and YES,
YOU HAVE to remember that he is far less than a human being. I will never fall into the same trap
    as these murderous rapists!

Btw, I'll bet that you are the kind that would quickly change opinions if YOUR own daughter were raped, tortured, and murdered by  these creeps!

I did reread my plans for torturing Saddam, and I'm telling you that I do not profess to be a good man, however I am not an evil murderous rapist.

The only point of yours that I agree with is, "You do not lessen the evils of the world by perpetuating your own, no matter who you are doing it to."  But, oh how satisfying it would be, and oh, how many lives will be saved by it!

  • Melkor said on Nov 06, 2006....
I may refer to him as monster by his actions, but he's still a human being

Do you know how Hitler justified killing the Jews? By thinking of them as less than human. And now you are doing what to Saddam? I think you have already fallen into the trap.

I would like to think that I wouldn't call for torture and death for anyone, no matter the circumstance. In the case that I'm overcome by emotion in a particular situation, I would hope that the society around me does the right thing instead of trying to satisfy any sense of revenge on my part.

"Satisfaction" won't bring back the dead, and I don't think Saddam is going to be killing anyone else anymore no matter whether he is sentenced to life imprisonment or to death.
  • Frlncwrtr said on Nov 06, 2006....
    Melkor:
You may refer to him as anything you wish, but I refer to him as a less than human monster, which by the way is directly related to his actions.

I really do not care what Hitler’s reasons were because this is not about him. However, I am not talking about murdering massive numbers of innocent people, simply by classifying them as less than human. I’m talking about 1 useless piece of scum that inhabits the earth without purpose.

So, YOU miss the point, I have not fallen into any trap! But, I cannot help but to think that someone, such as you, who is so strongly defending this scum, must be somewhat like him!

Maybe you would like to think that you that you wouldn't call for torture and death for anyone, no matter the circumstance. In the case that you are overcome by emotion in a particular situation, you may hope that the society around you does the right thing instead of trying to satisfy any sense of revenge on your part, but you cannot guarantee what YOUR reaction would be.

So, if you react in the manner discussed, you are no better than I am. That brings me to this point, I never said that I would commit this act upon Hussein, but merely said that I think that it’s what he deserves!

True that, "satisfaction" won't bring back the dead, but then nothing else will either, Also you are correct in that Saddam isn’t going to be killing anyone else anymore, so I erred on THAT one!

Now, “Go back to school little starling, fly, fly, fly…fly, fly, fly….”

    frlncwrtr,

    Have a nice day?

When ever I see marines of the republic that would be happy to torture someone for no other purpose then revenge, then personally that ruins my day. Any one so battle hardened that they get their kicks from hurting someone for the sake of hurting; well I would say that they are to battle hardened. I suppose I will be called weak for saying that, that would be a first for me.

You take personal satisfaction from watching a person suffer, no profit, no information, not even a confession just that fact that you can torture is enough for you. He is evil; he should die with out a doubt. But I what good thing will come from torturing him? Maybe you think pointless pain, mindless suffering are good things but if doing what he did is “good” then why torture such a “good man”? I hurt my enemy for a reason; to teach them not to attack me. I exact retribution for a reason; to take what was stolen. But in the end, if I can avoid hurting one with out doing some evil then I will. Torturing will get nothing back, and if he dies anyway why teach him anything. If you really get personal satisfaction from hurting someone, for no logical reason. Well, you’re in numerous company saddam Hussein included. But you can stay the hell away from me, I don’t want to be the next source of you personal satisfaction, I carry but I won’t torture you.

Penalty. So there YOU have it! :)

    Apollo:

I am sooo sorry that your fanaticism has prevented you from my wish for you, to "Have a nice day!"

I noticed that you signed at the bottom of this…Moron (Apollo). Thank you for explaining this to

me. Your writing has actually proved that you really are a moron!

In your opening, you wrote "When ever I see marines of the republic that would be happy to

torture someone for no other purpose then (than) revenge, then personally that ruins my day (so

sorry to hear that you take it so personally). You should seek professional help for this!)

I’m sorry to inform you that in this situation, the correct spelling is Whenever. This spelling applies to the first word in the first 2 paragraphs. Also, in the second paragraph. "Any one," should not be capitalized and is spelled anyone.

Furthermore, when I said, "I don't think you would have to pay battle-worn marines a cent to torture him," I never mentioned to what degree the marines would be battle-worn, or battle hardened, did I? So, your statement that they "are to battle hardened, is irrelevant." By the way, "to is spelled too in this case.

"When ever Any one so battle hardened that they get their kicks from hurting someone for the sake of hurting; well I would say that they are to battle hardened. I suppose I will be called weak for saying that, that would be a first for me."

Also, I did not call you weak. I called you a moron!

This is --- not a sentence!

"If you really get personal satisfaction from hurting someone for no logical reason."

I never said that I had intentions of "watching a person suffer," (not that I classify Hussein as a human being anyway), nor did I have intentions of being the cause of the torture. Therefore, the alleged fact that I can torture being enough for me, is irrelevant!

I did not say any good would come from torturing him, but it sure would make a lot of people feel good.

Stay the hell away from you?

    You can count on it!

You’ve got a hell of a lot of nerve coming to my blog (I did not go to yours), and then telling me to stay the hell away from you, you self righteous son of a bitch!

Come back again, Moron (Apollo), and I’ll block your ass!
