I just saw that. Quite unbelievable that we are finally at
this point. I say lock him away until he expires, which
will probably not be long. Hanging him will only martyr
him even if he is not innocent (martyrs are usually
innocent). I figure it is up to the Iraqi people, however.
I think it would be in the interest of the U.S. to at
least pretend to want them to spare him the death
penalty. Either way he is damned, today or another day,
he will reside in hell.
I'd say he's better of alive than dead. While locked up in isolation without any human communication at all, it won't be long before he contemplates suicide. Personal suicide is the more humane and sane option than death by hanging. That way, his death can't be utilized as a rallying point for any political agenda by any interested party.
peedee: i have absolutely no idea what you're saying.
anonymous: personally, i believe that capital punishment's sole purpose
is to prevent repeat offenses. in that regard, i reluctantly feel
that it's a viable option in certain cases. and if anyone's
earned it more than hussein that's alive right now, i don't know who
that person is.
alienated: yeah, i'm kinda having mixed feelings about the matter.
