oooohhh Super Z,

I love the trivia; have not read some for quite a while....

#30 caught my eye because I grew up with Sesame Street and What a Wonderful Life has such a great impact with me as I watched, I´m guessing 10 years ago....I still hear the little girl saying in her tiny voice....oh gosh help...I even wrote the saying that the Angel wrote on the book, in my journal....forgot the name too...

have to dig my diary in the attic....

now I recall...."every time a bell chimes an angel gets it´s wings"....or something like that; was his name Clarence?

oh my I´m getting teary-eyed, better get the dvd this month; girls are old enough to watch them....Pardon (donning on a French accent....blowing her nose...scusi)

Hey Z, I ran into the ostrich one while researching bird sex!

Did Wright do that on purpose?  no E's?

PBW:  i'm an expert on It's a Wonderful Life.  Yes, Clarence (Oddbody) was the angel.
'Every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings"... Zuzu, George's daughter reminds us of this at the very end of the movie!

SL--I'm not sure if he did it on purpose. But can you imagine, writing a 50,00 word book with no E's?  Think of all the words it would eliminate.  Hell, I'm not sure I could get through a single comment, let alone a blog post with no E's.   0.o

Re: #38, Wikipedia confirmed my suspicion: "Most golf balls on sale today have about 300 - 450 dimples. There were a few balls having over 500 dimples before. The record holder was a ball with 1,070 dimples -- 414 larger ones (in four different sizes) and 656 pinhead-sized ones. All brands of balls, except one, have even-numbered dimples. The only odd-numbered ball on market is a ball with 333 dimples."

And, since we're all about trivia here, a few more trivial facts about golf balls, courtesy of the USGA:
• A golf ball remains in contact with the club face for only about 450 microseconds (0.00045 s), much less time than it takes to blink your eye.
• During impact the clubhead exerts an average force in excess of 2,000 pounds on the ball, compressing it about one-fourth of its diameter.
• All properly struck golf shots are hit with backspin, making the golf ball fly just as the wings provide lift to an airplane.

Whooo...hooo... LJ how many lashes do I get for every wrong piece of trivia?!?!?

(Hmmmm...I wonder if he would catch on that I am purposely getting them wrong just for an extra lash?)

Smart-Assed Masochist

In other words, someone who schemes in order to be beaten, a treatment that they enjoy. The wise dom or sadist recognizes this behavior and ensures that the SAM endures a different and much more effective punishment than the beating that had been hoped for.

• Zayda said on Nov 05, 2006....
Ahhh...thanks for the clarification LJ.  And well, honestly, by know you should know that a SAM, I am not.  Nor am I a schemer.

Smart-ass, yes?  Masochist...not so much.

• lioneljay said on Nov 05, 2006....
Hmmmm.....not a schemer?
"(Hmmmm...I wonder if he would catch on that I am purposely getting them wrong just for an extra lash?)
I've little use for a masochists, myself. However, that's not to say that I don't enjoy a rousing reaction when I have the opportunity to provide a comely lass with some sweet torture - and even some that includes a fair dose of pain. But always in the interest of seduction and satiation.
• Zayda said on Nov 05, 2006....
Ahhh...my dear, LJ. The question is, was I actually serious about that?
