Is it too much to ask that the toilet paper in the bathrooms where I work be regularly restocked?
I work at a fairly large urban university. There are upwards of 20K students who attend this school.
Across the hall from one of the rooms I teach in is the women's bathroom. It's the restroom I use most frequently when on campus because, well, it's right across the hall from my classroom. The bathroom has three regular stalls in it and one handicapped accessible stall in it.
So, Tuesday, I wandered into the bathroom only to find that 2 of the three regular stalls were out of toilet paper. Fine, at least one of them had toilet paper. (The toilet paper dispensers are the kind that hold 2 rolls so when one roll is empty, you push back the core of the empty roll to get access to the new roll). I didn't look in the handicapped accessible stall to find out if there was toilet paper there on Tuesday because I, as someone who has no physical limitations, don't like to use the handicapped acessible stall in case someone who really needs it comes into the restroom.
I go to wash my hands to find that only one of the paper towel dispensers has any paper towels in it. There are two large paper towel dispensers in the bathroom. The dispenser of anti-bacterial gel on the wall just as you walk out the door is full though. So...wait...why is that full but the toilet paper not stocked?
I don't teach on Wednesday at all, so I wasn't on campus.
On Thursday, I wander into the same bathroom to find that none of the regular stalls have toilet paper in them. A student comes out of the handicapped accessible stall and says to me, "I don't like using these since I'm not handicapped but sometimes you just have to." I nod, knowingly.
I go to wash my hands. This time, there are no paper towels in either dispenser.
Today is Friday. I decided to that if I needed to use the bathroom that would not be the one that I chose, I would simply go across the building to the other women's restroom. But out of curiosity, I went in that same bathroom across the hall from my classroom just to see. Today, there was no toilet paper in any stall and no paper towels in either dispenser.
The large trashcan in the bathroom also appears to not have been emptied since sometime Tuesday. Yet, the antibacterial gel dispenser is full again.
WTF is going on? How hard is it to replace toilet paper in a bathroom. Do the facilities management personnel here just forget this bathroom exists? It is on a side hall of the building, but still it is a well traveled hall since 12 classrooms are on that hallway.
The other women's bathroom across the building is fully stocked on toiletpaper in every stall.
Someone needs to get off their asses and do their job and take care of this restroom. If the toilet papers hasn't been restocked in a week, I am betting the restroom hasn't been cleaned in a week and that's just disgusting.
