What is the problem now? I can't cut and paste from Word. I can compose straight into the comment box. If I try to cut and paste into the content box, I get the wonderful "this can't be blank" message.
I better not have to change browsers again. This frustrates me so much!

I have Word 2000 and my browser is the latest version of Firefox.

Word sucks, but that is just my opinion. Probably, when you cut from Word, it picks up a bunch of formatting crap that drives the outstanding SoulCast editor a little looney (I have to be careful, they are watching). I would suggest writing your stuff in Notepad, which is brilliantly simple, like SoulCast. -

How to cut copy and paste...
First things first, do it manually...as in with your fingers...
If you got to copy from word, do select all, as in Ctrl A...
Then you paste it with Ctrl C...I use Word also...
And if you get the blank message, just refresh the page and do Ctrl C again...
And for the comments...I have realised that at times I loose the body of my comment, after it is displayed...
To avoid that...first Ctrl A+Ctrl C+open a notepad there Ctrl V...And if you get of your comment there, then post the comment...close the notepad only after you see your entire comment on the blog...or else edit it, and paste the entire comment from the notepad...and if it still says no message in the comment area...refresh the page, and then paste your comment...
I know this sounds kind of tedious...but this is the only way to survive with soulcast's new updates...believe me...
And if it doesnt sound coherent, believe me I tried to make it coherent...
And now I am going to Ctrl A+Ctrl C+Ctrl V this in a notepad...wow...

CW: OK, i'm using 2003 but this is such an elementary part of the process that i can't imagine that this is the source of the problem. alienated's absolutely right that it will pick-up extraneous junk.
please consider what weird world suggests: i've not had any problems copying & pasting from word 2003, but clearly, it seems to work.

cw, we are doing everything we can to make sure all users can post. The 'edit html' mode is there for power users and for those who have problems with the 'compose' mode. The 'edit html' mode should work no matter what. We are also working on improving the feature set of the 'edit html' mode. The 'composer' mode still has some kinks we are working out.
We want to allow users to have friendly easy to use formatting tools, but some of those features require recent browsers. It's a trade off that has clearly been frustrating for some of our users, and it was made worse by our lack of a way to not use it when we first rolled it out. I assure you that your experience on the site is very important to us and that we are going to make it work without headaches for our users, but you will need a recent browser (IE or firefox) to use all of the features.
