I have to say that I never really thought much about why we do the things we do as women much more than I feel better when I feel put together. I never really looked at the reasons for why I did my hair in a certain way, put on makeup in a certain way, or dressed in a certain way. I don’t think that I am doing these things purposefully for any kind of male approval, and how can we ever know what women would think is beautiful in their own view instead of through a man’s view? This really made me think. But then again, is it fair to say this? Men also have very different opinions of what is attractive. Yes, some men think that rail thin women with large breasts are attractive, other men want a woman who is petite all around, yet others like women with voluptuous curves all around, still others like women that might by other’s standards to be considered plump. So really, how can we say that we see things through men’s eyes, which man’s eyes are we looking through?

My sister recently told me that I was a “pear” shape. I almost cried. I hate being referred to as a fruit. I know that most people use these terms to describe our shape, but there must be a nicer way to call my shape. So I decided to do some research... I found a website that actually uses much better terms to describe our bodies. They use jewel types……what a great idea and way to describe our bodies! I am no longer “pear shaped…..instead I am “sapphire” shaped. I like that sooo much better. The website is www.holobi.com.., kudos to them for thinking of this. My sister is a “diamond”…I hate her.
