Being a busy socialite, I do have to choose where best to spend my time, and whom with.  Class, good taste and style are the most important criteria for my decision making.  I have grown tired of my furniture at home and want to give my loft not just a facelift this time, but a whole make-over.  I wanna change the art-deco style that I have been in love with for so long due to my Jazz Age obsession to something refreshing, striking and new.  Gosh I'm turning 27 soon, 27 shouldn't be considered old but I do feel old.  My lips have tasted too many cocktails, my eyes have feasted on too many beautiful people and scenes that have started to lose meaning and clarity in my memory, my hands have also touched too much... Too much of anything is not good, even when it's too much of something supposedly good... To revive my vality of a 27-year-old young woman, I want my loft to be strikingly modern, stylish and give off that air of indifference... the indifference of a girl in her early 20s towards her admirers with her invincible youth, confidence and beauty.  Contemporary minimalism would do the trick!  So I decided to go shopping with my friend Mark, the incorrigible class freak, who is severely allergic to anything that is short of classy and stylish.  I love the way his full lips that are always immaculately covered with clear pink lip gloss move whenever he sees something ugly and criticizes mercilessly.

We met at Ritz's cafe for a tea and a discussion of what I wanna get first before we start shopping.  Mark's eyes are perfectly lined with a liquid liner today and it gives him quite a dramatic look.  Many other gusets at Ritz have stared and quietly commented to their company but it didn't bother me.  It is Mark's flamboyance and his "I am who I am" attitude that I love!  He's the only one that truly loved my bob hair anyways.

The term “Modern Furniture” refers to the furniture created all through the 19th century till today, inspired by the art movement called modernism. A huge departure from the furniture design before it, highly ornate and gilded pieces of wood and richly textured fabrics gave way to staggering simplicity and the aesthetic geometry of metal.
