This is new TV for me. Oh-- my-- God!!! Just when you thought TV had gone over the top-- WHAM!!! We get hit with something more edgy that the last edgy show. Noah’s Arc is the hottest show in production. As a straight female, watching GAY-TV is totally fascinating. Once I got pass the men-kissing-men thing (and, yes, I find that hard to take), it really is a good show. Creator, Patrik-Ian Polk has struck gold. While I’ve had a few gay friends over the years, and I’ve enjoyed working with a couple of people who happened to be gay, I’ve never had a bird’s eye view of interaction between several different gay people. Call me ignorant, but that’s the truth. This show has it all-- pertinent life issues, sensitivity, and comedy. It’s about everyday problems to which we can all relate. Bottom line-- it’s people trying to get the best out of life that they can possibly can. And let me say that Jensen Atwood (Wade) is one of the finest men-- gay or straight-- to ever grace television airways. This is some of the best scriptwriting I’ve seen in a long time. Noah’s Arc goes to the top of my list.

Ok, you are not alone. I am completely addicted to Noah's Arc. I have all of the
main characters saved as my friends on myspace and anytime I see somebody
online talking about the show...I have to comment. I don't have any close friends
who watch the show or even know about it. As a straight person, I don't know why
I am so fascinated with the show but I am. I even posted a blog on myspace trying
to explore the topic deeper. Here's what it said...

As I was watching Noah's Arc with my very closed-minded mother,(who turned her head on the love scenes LoL.) some questions came to mind. Why do women get along with gay men so well...and more importantly why are we so "interested" with their lives. The interest in shows like "queer as folk" and now "noah's arc" has grown with heterosexual women. Also books by gay authors such as E lynn harris probably have more straight readers, than gay ones.

A gay man, commented on my blog as said that women and gay men have a kinderness have to live in a straight man's society...we can relate to each other.

My response to him : Does it offend you that by being gay in America these days, especially in our community, is almost considered a novelity of sources. My mother doesn't not read books about gay men because she respects the lifestyle, or is "down" with the struggle...but, because she is entertained. Does that bother you?
