I know the advert says something about making money blogging on Soulcast. I assume some people are doing it for a little extra money. Personally, I enjoy writing. But I came across a couple of links – one to a blog on Soulcast from a lady in a poorer country would was definitely doing it for the money. The other link was for a website on Googlepages. I was surprised to see adsense on there. I thought great! I can do a website on there and add to my adsense account. But it proved to be slower and harder than I thought. The adsense is better than on a blog – I have more control about where it goes and I can change the content but the site is only 15 Mb. But Googlepages give you 100 Mb of space and allow you to put adsense on. But I spent three hours the other evening just doing one page! I updated my usual website tonight and saved it and then uploaded it. But with Googlepages you don’t need a web design program. You can add text, pictures and paste in the JavaScript for the adsense – they was a little difficult at first. You also have to take care picking your template or style. But is you want a website and you want everything free – it’s a good idea. I think it’s particularly good for people from poorer or developing countries. It is advisable to get together with other webmasters and join a web ring. Although, some web masters want us amateurs banned from adsense! But everyone has to learn and the best way is to just try it and learn as you go on. Anyway, to get some Googlepages space, you first have to get a Google mail email account and those are by invitation from someone who already has one. So ask around – your friends may have one.
