I thought the fact that Halloween is coming soon made this an appropriate topic. Ghosts, of course, are an icon of Halloween, but why doesn't anyone ever talk about them in an open forum? Why doesn't anyone talk about their existence or nonexistence?

That said, I have a question. Do you believe in ghosts, or are they just a figment of our imagination?

i believe ghosts are generally a figment of our imagination, myself. while i can admit that there is more to life than is dreamt of in my philosophy, if i may paraphrase shakespeare, i've not really encountered a phenomenon that cannot be explained by science and/or fatigue/alcohol/etc.

that perhaps says more about me however than the matter at hand.

i whole heartly believe, not because my mother is overly superstitious, because i have seen one,now not a full blown ghost, but a presence,a huge gust of wind and clouds(i suppose) you'd call it,i heard my granny and grandad laugh as it disappeared, both of them where and still are dead! it was very strange but comforting also as my granny had just passed and my grandad had gone the year i was born, but i knew it was his voice. i sound crazy, but its the truth. and living in ireland things like ghosts are generally accepted.

I believe in them to some extent. I believe there are definitely spirits out there, ive had too many weird things happen in my life to not believe in them. But maybe my belief lies more in Angels than ghosts. Ghosts sounds like such a taboo or childish silly word doesnt it?

I used the board last night, and very odd things happened. Do you want to know what?...
