In the aftermath of the nuclear test North Korea thinks the UN should congratulate them instead of passing USELESS resolutions. I couldn't agree more. It appears that whatever they do is utterly useless at our exhorbitant expense. How much longer, until we realize that the United Nations is a useless organization that has outlived its usefulness, if indeed it ever had any.

The alternative is that the US reverts to imperialism, not that I really mind that idea but many others would disagree.

not necessarily. In the era of globalization, I believe imperialism is outdated. If mankind truly wanted to we could find a way to co-exist in peace and harmony, but it has been shown that man is not willing to pay the price. I believe, that has been George W. Bush's great mis-calculation. He had hoped to introduce the whole world to freedom and democracy. Apparently that is not a priority for most people. And I also believe, that the last 50 years have shown that the UN does not add anything to the stability in the world, at an incredible expense, of which the US (i.e. our taxes) shoulders 25%.

The UN is useless on this we agree. Globalization in my mind=imperialism. They are really alternate plans to the same goal.

Nobody give anything away for free we can agree on this right? With that said there are only two ways to get the things you want and need from those who have them. You can take them (rob or murder them on an individual level, raid or conquer them on a national level) Or we can trade them for something they percieve to be of equal or greater value. (You can say trade them a juice box for their granola bar, protection against a feared enemy for food and shelter, or trade oil for food.)

People who give things away for free fall under one of two categories. They have "too" much and thus either don't value what they have given away at all (Salvation Army comes to mind) or charity but this is always done in moderation and rarely enough to truly support a second individual. Or they are fools who aren't destined to last long in the world. When you give away everything without thought for yourself you inevitably starve.

The imperialist believes that they should take from other nations with violence or the threat of violence. Im most cases (See Roman and British Empires) the conquered peoples were the beneficiaries of technologies that they at the least didn't have prior to being conquered. If many African nations are used as an example they perhaps still wouldn't have to this day. The globalist doesn't need to trade blood for his desires, instead he trades money and goods.
