Or rather, why green tea is good for you when you are smoking. I read about this study and thought I’d share it with you. Its called the Asian paradox, as many Asain people smoke, but they have a much lower incidence of lung cancer and other diseases related to smoking tobacco. So take a cup for cancer! You should also read the following on which vegetables will protect your smoke battered lungs!

“Researchers recruited 2,000 lung cancer patients and compared them against
2,000 age- and sex-matched subjects from six countries in eastern and
central Europe. Each filled out a food questionnaire and gave a blood
sample to assess their genetic status.

The study found that eating cruciferous vegetables weekly had a 33%
protective effect against lung cancer in people who had an inactive form of
a gene called GSTM1, and a 37% protective effect for those with an inactive
GSTT1 gene. For those who had both genes inactivated, the vegetable
consumption provided a 72% protective effect. No such effect was found in
people who had active forms of both genes.

The genes produce glutathione-S-transferase enzymes, which eliminate
chemopreventive compounds called isothiocyanates. Cruciferous vegetables
have a high concentration of this cancer-fighting compound.”

    See, when I first clicked on the title of this post, I was thinking " wow! another thing I can smoke to make me feel better!" but NO! This post had to be about drinking green tea while smoking that wacky tobacky... yer mean for getting a girl's hopes up....

    Does it have to be tea-bag green tea, or I can just buy bottled green-teas in the supermarket?

    If bottled ones are ok, that's so great! I like drinking something sweet while smoking, usually green tea :)

    TheNack, Oh boy, I think I just gave people an axcuse to never stop smoking! Hey guys, we should really quit, it enhances quility of life, sexlife, work and basically everything else!. But while we are struggleling, we can reduce the prolonged effect by these methods.

    Blue T- Sorry for the misleading headline, I don't hink green tea will be fun to smoke. You sound like an interesting person though

    missb, I'm not sure, I suppose it will be fine if they did not modify it. I know a lot of vitimine suplements contain a green tea extract called something like ECEG. I am still trying to find out if something like this will have the same benifits. I suppose it will help as it is an powerful antioxidant, but I believe it will probably be the combination that makes real gree tea so healthy.

    But dam be warned, ti stuffs bitter, have some honey ready!

    it'll make you go blind -
    i dont know the reason for it but i've seen quite a few people stupid engouth to try and its true nontheless

    but other then that thumbs up im gonna look into all them veggies and try eating abit more of them then i do now
