Who's reading dreamtime (6):
Where do I start? Well, Einstein said it best:
"The release of atomic power has changed everything except our way of thinking...the solution to this problem lies in the heart of mankind. If only I had known, I should have become a watchmaker."

We are not turning back the technological clock nor is that even practically possible. Technology has advanced in numerous ways that are beneficial. But, as always technology also empowers mankind with ever more deadly ways to self-destruct. We exploded into the nuclear age on July 16, 1945 and haven't looked back since. Seven nations had to this day openly declared their nuclear status. And now one more nation has gone officially nuclear... North Korea has, this day, conducted a nuclear test by exploding a device underground.

Unlike the other nuclear nations, North Korea is a major menace to global security. It is led by a fascist leader. it is arguably the most totalitarian state in the world today. Where do we go from here? How do we reign in Kim Jong-il?

Robert Oppenheimer said that the following verse from the Bhagavad Gita came to his mind when he watched the first explosion of an atomic device:

'Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.'
