Who's reading dreamtime (6):
I found the following information at one of those "Big-Oil" conspiracy to dominate the world websites... Just wondering if the information is accurate. Anyone out there can provide evidence to verify or to dispute the information?

1. George W Bush Jr, President: Harken Energy Board of Directors, Spectrum 7 (a partner of Enron) fnord Chairman

2. Dick Cheney, Vice President: Halliburton CEO

3. Condoleezza Rice, National Security Advisor: Chevron Board of Directors
(first Cabinet-level official with their own personal oil tanker)

4. Donald Rumsfeld, Defence Secretary: Asea Brown Boveri Board of Directors, et al.

5. Spencer Abraham, Energy Secretary: surprisingly never worked for the energy industry... at least not directly

6. Donald Evans, Commerce Secretary: TMBR / Sharp Drilling CEO

7. Gale Norton, Interior Secretary: BP Amoco lobbyist

8. Andrew Card, Chief of Staff: General Motors Vice President

9. Karl Rove, Campaign Manager: Enron investor (got out just before the crash, isn't he "lucky"?)

10. Thomas White, Secretary of the Army: Enron Vice Chairman

11. Robert Zoellick, US Trade Representative: Enron Advisory Board

12. Lawrence Lindsey, Economic Advisor: Enron Board of Directors

It would make sense since Enron largely contributed to Bush’s campaign. I guess the only silver lining to the Big Oilies taking over the world is that eventually they will run out of fuel.

    Ok that’s not such a hopeful thought… we’re screwed.

Those guys don't really know the truth themselves, but if you're interested in getting some more answers, connecting a few more dots, etc. (and a helluva lot more questions!), look at some of Texas' largest law firms (Houston particularly).

Hint: Bush worked in the mailroom at one of them in his young days.

These are all just businessmen who took time out of their
busy and successful careers to serve their country. Pretty
common for the Republican party, which is not full of
career politicians like Ted Kennedy. Guys who only care
about themselves and their political careers. The measures
taken by Republicans often seem harsh because they are
usually undoing four to eight years of damage done by
the Democrats. Big business is behind both parties. It is
just a matter of which business is behind which politician.
Republicans are for free enterprise so big business is
naturally drawn to them. And here is the real kicker:
they are all politicians, democrats and republicans. We
cannot trust any of them any farther than we can
    punt them.

Alien, you are making a good point, but so is dreamtime. Seems that, even in a democracy, we are still only pawns of the people who have to big money.

Dreamtime, you should check out some of my posts on bush.

Blade> Yes... they are going to run out of fuel and get screwed... and the scary thought is that so would all of us...

Alienated> You are right about politicians and their business connections... it is practically impossible these days to find a politician with absolutely no business interests... I guess if I was an owner of a gas station and if I entered politics, then I would be yet another politician with a business interest...
That was something that ran through my mind as I read that website listing the Bush administration's business connections... Which politician is not connected to business in some way... Republicans... Democrats... As you say, they are politicians.... and that speaks for itself.

thenack> yes.. I will read your stuff shortly soon after posting this reply. :-)

A new dinosaur named Tatankacephalus cooneyorum, was recently unearthed in Montana. For me it's not a particularly exciting find. It's a rather standard addition to the anklosaur family, a group of armored dinoraurs with club like tails. It is surmise...
Caroline Glick's interesting little ode to George W. Bush and her pain at him no longer being POTUS...
...demonstrated an astonishing inability to recollect even simple facts...
Need anything more be said?...
"There's a lot of evidence that [Cheney] gave a number of false statements to federal officials, which is clearly a federal offense under 18 U.S.C. § 1001"...
