Mystery Babylon (New Age in the Church) Jun 17, 2007 9:28 am
376 Views The New Age spirituality belief, which is modern religious Babylon, has infiltrated the liberal main line Protestant churches and even some Evangelical and Pentecostal churches. One New Age movement that identifies with Christianity is the Emerging church movement, which has incorporated Eastern pagan beliefs such as altered state of consciousness techniques and mysticism replacing sound biblical doctrine. There are also other Christian sects who embrace ancient Babylon religious beliefs, such as god likeness (little gods), emphasis on self-achievement and positive possibility thinking, where the soul can create its own reality, emphasis on mystical experiences rather than the pure unadulterated word of God. In effect the worship of self.
Paganism worship is the final form of religion before the second coming of Christ. This New Age belief system is sweeping into Christendom and taking the focus off of the cross and onto the god of self. God is calling his people to come out of Babylon and make a stand for the true gospel of Jesus Christ. "Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds" (2 John 9-11).
Revelations 18: 3-6
For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

The New Age Movement has its roots in ancient Babylon. This modern pagan movement consists of eastern polytheistic (many gods) and pantheist beliefs (god in all nature) the same religion common to the days of Nimrod, where Babylon began. Nimrod started the first religion of Babel. This religion developed a one-world unity that rebelled against God by trying to attain to godlikeness in ones own efforts. By trying to reach heaven in ones own effort, Babel operated in Satan’s rebellion, to try to be like God.
However, even after the fall of Babel and the distribution of men on the face of the earth, the spirit of Babylon continued to exist in the hearts of mankind. The Babylonian empire revived the spirit of Babel and the same religion. Babylon worshiped gods who represented humans with god like entities that had superhuman power. Each god controlled certain aspects of the cosmos, and cults were developed to give worship to each of these particular gods. The main gods were given homage at large temples and every major city in Babylon had one. Every home also had an individual god that was worshipped and communicated with. The ethical system in Babylonian was towards a society of peace and was humanistic in which caring for other people was central.
Today the New Age movement is once again the revived Babylonian religion with an emphasis on world peace and global unity.
New Age emphasises the concept of humans possessing god like qualities with supernatural abilities. The human species, they believe, will evolve into its Christ consciousness or God state. God is seen as a force that is in everyone and everything and humans are a part of this creative force. Because God is in everything, our collective thoughts create reality.(sound familiar to some Christian sects out there ? )
We pre-existed, according to New Age ideology, before our present lives on earth. (Reincarnation.)
True Christianity on the other hand, embraces the concept of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ apart from our own efforts, death to self and God the Holy Spirit reigning supreme in his people.
