New Age Deception in the Church  May 25, 2007 7:33 pm

Mystical experiences that are unbiblical techniques are being used in order to experience the presence and power of God. Which is not realy the God of the bible but rather a pantheistic god who is supposed to be within human beings and within all of creation.

Among these techniques are 'Christian' meditation, yoga, visualization, hypnotic regression, inner healing, as well as alternative healing therapies for disease and illness.

Prayer is replaced by meditation and contemplative prayer that teach people how to achieve a state of alternative consciousness and so open up their creative minds to unidentified influences from the mystical spiritual realm. Studying the word of God is replaced by mystical revelations of God through dreams, visions and inner voices, without Scriptural guidlines and so undermining the authority of scripture above spiritual experiences.

The Emergent Church Movement Embraces Mysticism.......contemplative spirituality.

Contemplative Spirituality: A belief system that uses ancient mystical practices to induce altered states of consciousness (the silence) and is rooted in mysticism and the occult but often wrapped in Christian terminology. The premise of contemplative spirituality is pantheistic (God is all) and panentheistic (God is in all).

I John 4:1

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Simply, the answer is NO! It doesn't jibe with the rudimentary doctrines of Jesus or even our own sense of morality. Who can condemn a newborn baby for sin? Who can say Adam condemned us all by sinning? It's a crazy concept!...
