Yes I am going there. Believe it or not we actually had this
argument Yes grown women, are arguing over these silly movies/books…

Team Edward or Team Jacob?

And no not just based on looks (quite honestly Jacob in the
movies is MUCH hotter than Jacob, well once he cuts his hair anyway)

But, lets look at the characters themselves. I am in the
minority when I say Team Jacob. Apparently according to the Office Ladies, “Real
Men Sparkle” which in my thinking means “Real Men Run Away when they can’t
control every situation around them” (at least in New Moon) But in my opinion,
I want a rock. Or a Wolf – you choose. 
Give me a best friend who is going to pick me off the ground when I am
down and (fiercely) protect me when its needed.

According to the Office Ladies, Jacob thinks with his groin
(ok show me a man who doesn’t to some extent) I just don’t see it. He loves
Bella, he WANTS Bella. Just because he can actually get physical with her (even
after his *change*) and Edward seems to think he can’t, does not mean that he is
only thinking with his groin, thank you very much. The next argument The Ladies
presented me is that Jacob is “Reckless” How, exactly?  Well, he goes cliff diving, helps Bella with
the motorcycles, teaches her how to ride… Hello, people that is called LIVING.
Living has risks, no matter who you are.

Apparently, when it came down to it, they like Edward for
his turn of the century mentality, and how he is so careful and protective of
Bella. He keeps her in a safe little cocoon. No thanks, not my cup of tea. I
don’t want someone who is going to smother me with his protectiveness (which,
by the way, I read as CONTROL) and when he realizes he can’t protect (or
control) everything, he runs…and leaves Bella alone. Not only alone, but takes
away every trace of himself. Hey, that doesn’t help
guys. It actually makes it worse. Anyway… back to the subject at hand. I don’t like Edward, one bit,
especially in New Moon. He is uber-emo Edward in that damned book and I don’t
care how much he Sparkles…

But overall…I am still Team Jacob. Why? Plain and simple,
Bella can be BELLA around him, and he accepts it and cherishes it. Bella never
feels “not good enough” around Jacob. She is who she is. He supports her,
whether she wants to learn to ride a motorcycle or go cliff diving. I cannot
stand Bella in the presence of Edward Cullen. She is always focused on what she
is NOT. She is NOT pretty enough, NOT graceful enough, NOT anything enough.
Those thoughts simply do not cross her mind with Jacob. Plus how can you NOT be
Team Jacob…
