I did my usual breakfast at the coffee shop yesterday.  I am once again down to the penny, but this was a non-negotiable expense item.  Marty had kindly informed me what hour of the morning the "gang" gathered for a weekly breakfast and chat, so there I was.

Sure enough he arrived, with crabby Vincent already giving the waitress a bad time about coffee.  We had a nice chat and Ellen showed up.  A very pretty elderly lady who reminds me of Georgia O'Keefe.  We covered travel, family, etc.  Bodey wasn't able to join us for some reason and David (elderly construction company owner) popped in.

My photography came up and it seems that Ellen and Bodey are camera experts.  So I was told to bring my camera next saturday and they'd start giving me an education on using the manual settings.  I'm so thrilled to be able to find a resource that is free and has a human face attached to it!

I joked about putting in an application to join the Pie Shop Gang and was told by all that I have already "made the cut".  LOL  I don't know how to describe how much I enjoy these weekly get togethers.  Life in a city is a very lonely.  It's a little counter intuitive if you look at the sheer numbers of people you're around, but true.  This little gathering of very sociable people is my oasis.

I wonder when the waitresses will start remembering my "usual" order?

I joined these 'gangs' even when I was fairly young. Now they are a staple. I have found you can find some weirdos there too. They are usually the ones who exaggerate the hell out of their lives and experiences.

BTV - yes, I fully expect that a couple of them are that way.  It's part of the experience I think.

cj - it is refreshing to hear another person's take on things.  At the end of the day, I come home to just myself.

Lu - I really like these folks.  It's refreshing to talk to people who have a "no bullshit" take on life.

They're past playing the game Uni which is what makes it so refreshing.

How nice to be able to learn about your camera as well as enjoy a taste of pleasant conversation.

frags - I've been going to that diner for about 6 months.  I think you have to show them you're not transient.

That's neat Uni, sounds like you've found a very special group of people.  Who knows what interesting tidbits you'll be bringing back to this gang now.  :-)

Hege - well, I have to admit.  I'm the baby of the group.  Some of these folks have lead interesting lives already.  I'd guess I'm going to hear some pretty interesting tidbits too.

they sure are fun!...
The people all over the world gamble once in a life. Nobody can deny the fact that he has gambled at least for once. There are many people who take gambling as their favorite pastime while others do nothing but gamble....
You do not really have to worry whether your ex is thinking about you or not. More than likely, your ex is actually thinking about you even when you don't make any effort....
I demand to know how it got here so fast, lol....
