I did my usual breakfast at the coffee shop yesterday. I am once again down to the penny, but this was a non-negotiable expense item. Marty had kindly informed me what hour of the morning the "gang" gathered for a weekly breakfast and chat, so there I was.
Sure enough he arrived, with crabby Vincent already giving the waitress a bad time about coffee. We had a nice chat and Ellen showed up. A very pretty elderly lady who reminds me of Georgia O'Keefe. We covered travel, family, etc. Bodey wasn't able to join us for some reason and David (elderly construction company owner) popped in.
My photography came up and it seems that Ellen and Bodey are camera experts. So I was told to bring my camera next saturday and they'd start giving me an education on using the manual settings. I'm so thrilled to be able to find a resource that is free and has a human face attached to it!
I joked about putting in an application to join the Pie Shop Gang and was told by all that I have already "made the cut". LOL I don't know how to describe how much I enjoy these weekly get togethers. Life in a city is a very lonely. It's a little counter intuitive if you look at the sheer numbers of people you're around, but true. This little gathering of very sociable people is my oasis.
I wonder when the waitresses will start remembering my "usual" order?
