So I was reading this article in the Financial Times regarding President Obama's Afghanistan policy and was perplexed by his strategy of basically sitting back and going:
"Aw, ya, lets see...mmm...well...no...aw...hmmm...we could....no....but....well then...awww..."
Mr. President: Win or lose. It is that simple. This sitting on the fence while our enemies are seeing how weak you are is just going to embolden the enemy and get more people killed. And Good God Mr. President! John Kerry! John Kerry should not have a shred of influence or power outside of the wasteland of a state that he is from.
My scorn for John Kerry comes from the fact that he went to Vietnam and did barely enough to slick by so he could add "Vietnam Vet" to his resume then he comes back to the states and joins the Jane Fonda's in ripping our country and its people to shreds to the point it caused us to lose the war. The fact Jane Fonda and John Kerry are not completely shunned and tossed out of this country for treason is one of America's greatest tragedies. That is one, I could go on but that is not why I am here. A quote from the link above:
"Many in the White House were hoping that Mr Kerry’s recent diplomatic feat would stiffen his resolve to support Mr Obama’s forthcoming troop surge and thus help reconcile the liberal wing of the Democratic party to this “war of necessity” – as opposed to the “war of choice” Mr Cheney and Mr Bush commenced in Iraq. But their hopes were dashed – and the deep ambivalence of many of Mr Obama’s non-military advisers was underlined – when Mr Kerry gave a confusing speech back in Washington this week. The Vietnam war veteran said that Gen McChrystal’s proposed counter-insurgency strategy went “too far, too fast”. But the senator also said a US pull-out from Afghanistan could be dangerously destabilizing for the broader region."
Now instead of flip-flopping and trying to weasel his way into a presidency he is flip-flopping on Afghanistan and American lives are stuck in the middle. The general in charge of winning the war says we need this many troops and this dunderhead says it is too far and too fast?! This is exactly what they did in Iraq, no more troops but no pull out either, we will just sit on the fence and hope the American people don't see what a bunch of inexperienced and weak people we are.
But the main question here and the whole reason for this post is this: Our enemies are watching and does this give them a reason to abandon the cause or keep the cause going? Remember George W. stuck with Iraq and Al Qaeda was defeated and demoralized. Mr. Obama, fire John Kerry and win this fucking war.
