why is it that the excitment of different things in life seems to fade so quickly? Relationships commonly experience this and then two people simply co-exist, trying to tolerate each other. Are we meant to be in a monogamous relationship when this happens most of the time. Does the 50 % divorce rate support this notion? Surveys on how often people is committed relationships commonly find 30-50%!
I suspect that 15-25% of peopel are actually satisfied in their relationship, after a 6-18 month honeymoon period.
I am not supporting polygamy either, just wondering if relationships should similar to a lease on a car. After 3 years, if no issues are present (kids, economic deprendence, just walk away).
