The following article delves into the subject of pregnancy week by week. If you have a particular interest in pregnancy week by week, then this informative article is required reading.

Pregnancy is a scary, yet miraculous part of life. Part of the nervousness and anticipation that surrounds pregnancy is a lack of knowledge about what happens to your body during the nine months required to create a new life. Below is a pregnancy week by week list of the changes that will take place while you are pregnant. Remember that every woman is different and the rate at which a fetus develops is varied.

There are three stages of pregnancy. These are the first, second and third trimesters. The first trimester runs from week one to week fourteen, the second covers weeks 15 - 26, then the third is weeks 27 - 40.

Pregnancy week by week information comes in handy for women expecting a child or those planning one in the near future. Pregnancy is a gift only women are bestowed with. It is perhaps nature’s way to make women feel special and communicate them that they are the preferred section. Such prominence however is not easy to pull off; it rather calls in for profuse effort and endurance to live through difficult times.

The 1st week of pregnancy commences with the day of the woman’s last period. By the end of 4th week of pregnancy, there is fertilization of the egg and the beginning of a new life. This is the time when the early pregnancy symptoms start showing in.

Week one starts with the date of your last menstrual period. During week four, fertilization of the eggs occurs and the process of creating a new life begins.

The fertilized egg now moves down the fallopian tubes, fluid passes into the ball of cells, dividing them into two. The inner cells will form your baby and the outer cells will form the placenta. Your body, at this stage, is still unaware that it is pregnant. The implantation begins as the cell ball reaches the wall of the uterus. In this process the cells actually bury into the uterus wall, which can sometimes lead to you having spotting. The implanted cell ball now becomes an embryo.

Planning a child is a term that encapsulates much beyond quantifiable limits. The list of what needs to be done and what must be seriously avoided in the 40 weeks of pregnancy and much after, seems to endlessly inflate with new entries added every now and then. There hardly is any aspect of life which is left untouched by the first pregnancy. Whatever preparations you make, keep in mind that the pregnancy week-by-week changes would always demand a little more.Between the 13th and 16th week, it is possible to know the gender of the baby with a low level of certainty. At the end of the 14th week, the mother can listen to her future baby's heartbeat during the visit to a clinic. She also notices movements of her baby, as her bones begin to become hard.
