Plain and simple I would make a terrible sales person, no doubt about it.

I just have such a problem making that extra step, going that extra mile for a client who just expects it. Expects it and won't take any responsibility at all.

K, lets say that you have a client that is complaining about not getting CERTAIN e-mails from you. Not all of them, just certain ones. You takes the pains to get those missing e-mails to the person, and run every test you can think of to find out what the hell is the problem.  You let them know that you need them to check with their IT department since I have no way of knowing if their firewall has any filters that might be causing the problem.

And then person doesn't follow through with that simple request. And e-mails you, again bitching about this issue that you won't resolve. And of course since I am sending the e-mail, its my issue to fix.

The words from Jerry McGuire keeps running through my head - "Help Me! Help Me...Help YOU" Boss Lady is no help. Just bend over backwards and take it. Some people we DO have to treat this way. Tell her you will fix it. Tell her YOU will call her IT department to get it fixed, you will do ANYTHING for her to make this work.

But I don't want to. You know, if she said..."I am frustrated, I have done everything I can, please help me figure this out" Totally, I am there. Totally there. But instead of listening to the words that are coming out of my mouth, and taking some ownership of the problem...she has decided that bitching to me and making me take all the responsibility of getting this resolved with out any effort (other the effort it takes her to BITCH)

No, I do THINK think... though I'd much rather prefer not to. Might be much more peaceful that way...
I suppose, anyway, just quit looking at my coffee ... that'll get you into trouble and you don't want trouble....
