Now you've had a chance to experience my new formatting a bit, I hope.  I don't know if it's going to stick, or if I'll go back to posting as I did before.  I'm sort of still in test mode, I suppose.

I figure the new formatting will allow for ease of reading.  If I haven't got much to say, you'll see posts like this, where I just state my thoughts and leave it at that with no further development because I haven't got much else to say.

If I have a little to say on a specific topic, you'll see posts like this, where I'll italicize the basic point/moral/backing and then divulge into further detail immediately following.  That'll allow the reader to select what they'd like to read at leisure, without having to scan a whole post, they can just look at the italicized sections and see if it pertains to their interests.  If it doesn't, they can skip the section entirely.

Of course there will be exceptions, kinks and all of that to work out, but I'll tend to those when I get there.  As of right now, it's my blog so I'll do as I please, of course, but what good is MY blog if I haven't got anybody reading me, sympathizing, supporting, offering advice, etc.?  So in terms of that, I do need to give whomever chooses to read me a little bit of consideration so I can make this experience as pleasant as possible for all of you.  For now, what I want to know is:

  1. What do you think of this new format?
  2. Does it make a difference to you one way or the other in terms of readership?
  3. Do you have any suggestions from your personal preference on what could make posts potentially easier to read or more eye catching?

I want you to say whatever you want, or need to say as long as it makes you feel better about anything that might be  bothering you. You have always been interesting!

    1. I like the new format, I've been dead tired the past few days and it's easy to follow =p smaller chunks.

    2. It only makes a difference if I'm tired.

    3. Um, I've got nothing. It's s'all good

However you present it, I will read it.  :-)  Do what you like best.

it takes time to figure out what works best in this type of environment hege. i know i've gotten allot better at writing since i've been doing it here. if you're looking for readers here based on style or content, you'll find that to be illusive just as everyone else here has. people comment on what they relate to, or what moves them, good or bad, and you won't always be able to come up with things to do that, as you've experienced i'm sure.

Maybe you could use a little color?

I think I can agree with all above.I know that I havent been commenting much lately if at all - but I have been reading, and I have been following- but i think as long as you are happy with what it is you have written and how you have presented it -the only persons opinion that matters in the long run is your own.Just remember that.
  • sheltercrow said on Oct 30, 2009....
Maybe you can put a little blog role. As an example.

I like it either way.  You were right on the first link--it's your blog!"  I do like the sections on the first, and I like the "title info sentence" on the second.  I think you may have something there!

I thought that was something new on SC up there....but I see now it was something sheltercrow created.

(I wish there was an easy way to go find an old post of your own when you can't remember the title, other than maybe tags.  (just kidding, I know how stupid that sounds)  I just got tired of looking for one of my posts on 38 some odd pages.....and gave up the fight.)

You are one of the most genuine blogger in SC, Heggies♥, that I consider a friend :) .  You give so much thought, and support to the people you comment to.  I cannot imagine SC without you. (((huggies)))

Like the others have said above me, I will read you anyway you would like to present your thoughts :)

I mostly take time before I comment because as you know, I want to weigh the worth of my opinion - if it is going to be of use to the blogger I am commenting to... because, if I feel that it is a blog about sorting out thoughts, I tend to just follow and not say anything at all.  I have done this a lot, so much so that in the end I remain a silent follower.

It has nothing to do with the blogs of my friends (at the moment I am limiting my attention, and time to - as I have limited my priorities), that I don´t comment... mostly it is my mood, that decides if I will be hopping around the place, and commenting or remain in the comfort of silent reading :) and silent support.

Mixed - Why thank you, I really appreciate that.

Simply - I can totally understand and relate to that, thank you.

CW - Thank you, that really is good to know, I appreciate it more than you could know.  :-D

Trav - Oh, I've definitely experience that.  That's an 'every post' thing the way I see it.  However, for those who do happen to relate to something I'm talking about, or who are curious to see what I do talk about, I'd rather they enjoy their read and find it a good experience.  I'm not looking necessarily to get MORE readers, just to make it more enjoyable and comfortable for those who do read me.

Shelter - Well, how would I go about getting color without getting into all the HTML?  I played around a little with learning some HTML, but I think that's just an awful lot of work for all intents and purposes for me here.  Thank you for the suggestion.  As for the blog role, could that also be used for specific posts?  The way I see it, if I'm subscribed, then that means I like the blog, and other users can already see that.

Frags - Aww, thank you, that makes me feel really good.  :-)

CJ - Thank you, I will remember that.

Star - Thank you, I'll keep that in mind so I won't feel too bad if I don't keep up with the different format, lol.

MMI - Thank you, and yeah, it was almost easier writing my blog that way, putting the thought forth, then expanding, and then going to the next thought without worrying about any sort of 'flow'.

Wombie - Thank you for the input.  Yeah, I'm with you in that it would be nice to catalog certain posts a little easier, without having to do a long search or anything like that.

Paper - Well thank you so much for saying those things, it really warms my heart.  The way I feel about it, for those who are generous enough to read me, and to comment, I just want to show them that I do appreciate that by making things as pleasant, comfortable and easy as possible.  As I mentioned above, not so much to get more readers, but just to improve quality for those who already have taken the time to read me, get to know me a little and give their time, thought and support to me.  I can hardly express how much I appreciate all of that, and if I can make their visit here a little better, I'd love to be able to, whether commenting or not, because just knowing someone like yourself is there, supporting me, is well enough.  To sit and think that 'Well, I know this one, that one, then this one, that one, etc. are reading me and supporting me' is just so amazing when I need a boost.  It's good to know others care, and I'd definitely like to express that I care too, that I'm not whining for the sake of whining, and that I care about them as well.  Thank you for stopping by, it was fantastic to see your comment here!  (((((((((HUGS))))))))))

    Abb - Thank you.

UF - Glad you're enjoying, I'll hopefully be able to keep it in the easier format, but I apologize in advance if I happen to slip back to old ways.  :-)

Yes it is. I fool around with html once in awhile. I did it here to see how much the site allows. Not much.

I have Firefox with a 'Write Area' add-on. There is also 'Xinha Here!' and 'It's All Text' as well as 'BBCodeXtra.' Write Area, Xinha Here!, and BBCodeXtra work within Firefox whereas It's All Text opens up an external html editor.

To get the code for something, like that little box, copy and paste it to your 'compose' area. You can change the links and link text in the 'edit html' area or cut and paste a different link.

I like the new format as well.  It's clean and easy to read.
  • Hegemone said on Oct 31, 2009....
Shelter - Huh, that's good to know.  I might have to fiddle around with that from time to time.

Tex - Thank you, glad you like it.

Here is an example of the stuff that can be done with BBCodeXtra tool bar.
