Security and antivirus giant Symantec Corporation makers of Norton security
software have good news to us. Symantec has added a new kind of
security model for the lists of its security technologies. The said
security model will help PC users drive away of those viruses and
malwares that continue to create havoc to consumer PCs. Symantec has
already announced that their newly launched products –Norton Internet
Security 2010 and Norton Antivirus 2010 are scheduled to be released in
October. The new Security products from Symantec got a very nice
feature something new in the market a first of its kind. Symantec’s new
products will feature a reputation based security technologies to
counter threat posed by malwares and viruses that usually prey on
consumer PCs. If this works it could revolutionize and maybe change how
we conduct and implement security business. The most striking thing
here is it could change the rule of the game when it comes to security
matters, Symantec will definitely rule the security game. The Symantec
reputation based security model works simply by just gathering
reputation of a particular URL, file attachments and even patches
anything that usually enter the user’s PC delivered via the web. What
we got here is a very cool and awesome technology, a truly disruptive
technology. I wondered if Microsoft knows this. I’ll speculate and
waiting for the Redmond’s beast next move, Microsoft and Symantec got
fierce rivalry. The Symantec’s new products got a very nice name,
codenamed “Quorum” it will definitely create a strong mainstream buzz
in the market. If this technology goes through and succeed it will mark
a significant shift in the field of security software. Well I strongly
believed that the security software will work. Symantec has a very good
reputation in security market, a truly global leader. Well the products
would put Symantec one step ahead of the competition. According to
Symantec traditional based solutions such as signature approach cannot
keep pace with the growing numbers of threats, many IT pundits
considered this type of approach obsolete or just incapable of
protecting PCs. What the market need is a new type of security tools.
Today’s viruses and malwares are getting much more sophisticated, smart
and extremely powerful, some of these threats are never seen before and
delivered via the web. This poised a major threat to the consumer PCs.
The current PC security situation are getting tougher for us, the
reality is the threat is there! We need tools. Anecdotal evidences
suggested that we are in desperate needs of a much more powerful and
smart stuff something that could cope with those security threats.
Symantec got the answer to those issues, it will lead the pack. The
Company has just proved itself as a leader in security software.
